    Scared of the red

Posted on Dec 05, 2009 at 2:23 PM

Its bold and brash but im scared of the red

it triggers violence for me -where as the blue just comes of rugged/grunge/distressed.

Granted Im strange but its a little to Manson-esque.for me with the current colors.

You have a point there. Would you prefer it to be completely blue or a less aggressive red?

"completely blue or a less aggressive red?" the negative connotation i belief is sparked by the black grunge/brush overlay no telling where overlay-ed reds or silver may take you . Also your mat/background has a tremendous impact overall because of the trailing slithers and there relative opacity the mat color/gradient/image could totally open this up.

I should remove the brush overlay then? Without any kind of fill I think it looks kind of 'understated', if you know what I mean.

    I'd add more bright colors

Seems to be missing some colors.

    Name and Design

I just don't think the design is in peace with the name here. For 5-fold I would suggest a logo with a visual puzzle.

Yeah, that thought crossed my mind too. I thought of some better fitting concepts, but they didn't look as good as I had them imagined when I saw them on the screen.

I'll try to think of something better. Thanks for the feedback!

perhaps a great color to go with the 5 would be the teal family, maybe some bright and vivid turqoise.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try it out but wouldn't it be a (nearly) monochromatic color sheme then? I tried to go for two colors.

    I like it

Posted on Dec 07, 2009 at 7:34 AM

I like this concept quite a bit. It's very different but I think it works. The only thing that you are going to need to fight, is the idea that this is blood smeared against the wall. It could be mistaken for a horror logo. As long as you make sure that the rest of you page, business cards, letterhead don't look horror'esk I think you'll be fine.

Thanks for the advice, I wanted to achieve a 'loose paintstrokes' kind of look, didn't notice that it looked like smeared blood until recently. I guess I would be better off with a different color.

Yeah, if you used a different color I think you would be fine.

    Colors

Posted on Dec 08, 2009 at 6:54 AM

If this would be a horror movie site then it would be awesome. Maybe changing the colors would maybe it look more inviting and artistic. But right now the colors are "killing" me

"I'm not bound to any norm!" but i think the logo is too "gorey" for me...
