    bad type face

Posted on Dec 04, 2009 at 4:18 AM

because you are targetting many writers, i feel that it is only natural that you are not using a font from dafont.com or some other site. the destructive treatment to the typography is cheesy.

clear up your logo and simplify its "complex line structure." keep it minimal and effective. Notice the area to the left of the logo, there are too many lines there.

I really need to change the typeface. I was a little slobby with it... I'm gonna do something different.

    Too busy.

The concept is strong, and I think it totally fits with the company profile.

A few suggestions: - refine the lines within the logo mark itself. I like the idea, but I think you can better draw-out the movements of the lines.

    • I'm not wild about the typeface. It seems like the mark is fairly clean, but the type is almost grunge. Serif for sure, but maybe a little cleaner.

I like the monochromatic color scheme and the concept, very purposeful and strong against the white background. The lines and the font seem shaky though diluting the effect. I would say tighten up the lines and use a cleaner typeface and it will sing.

Too many lines and unfitting typeface.

Posted on Dec 04, 2009 at 7:11 AM

There are too many thin lines. If you're going to use it web-only, it's important to still look good after resizing it quite a bit. With lines like those it's not realy the case. The white lines inside the mark could be drawn to better accentuate the flow of the 8. Now they look kind of misplaced.

I really like the colours, they look great!

Unfortunately the typeface of the "Infinitum" is unfitting and looks cheap. There are many high-quality free fonts out there, try to find a more refined font.

Keep working on it and it will really shine!

    Make the object smaller

Posted on Dec 04, 2009 at 7:52 AM

I think I have said this before on some of your concepts, but I feel like the object could stand to be a bit smaller. Center the object above the words and decrease the amount of kerning you have in the tagline. Great start on this though, it's got potential!

Try to use clean typeface. Try to put infinity sign: Where T ends to the end of M it could look more cool :)

I feel like the typeface doesnt correlate with the logo. Also I would love for the logo to be more clean, because i see some edges have a line sticking out and some dont.

    Fonts

the logo symbol is ok but the type leaves a lot to be desired . I think given the nature of your demography you will have to come up with something better. One trick i use in the adobe stuff is to highlight font and highlight font window and down arrow and run a hundred fonts or so. If all else fails convert font into object (outlines) and get creative.

    the font

Posted on Dec 05, 2009 at 11:10 AM

i dont feel the font goes with the mark very well. An idea might be to make the mark have more of a 3d illusion.

    Make it cleaner

Posted on Dec 10, 2009 at 2:26 PM

I love the idea and the colors. I thinking the infinity symbol needs to be cleaner. The cleaner the lines the more it will flow. I also think the type needs to be a cleaner type. This one seems to sloppy for the concept.
