big impact - minor things to change.

Posted on Nov 28, 2009 at 6:17 PM

    Hi Riady,

    I like it.

The box below 'transforming... into Godly leaders..." seems drab. Not sure what to do about that. I'm not a huge fan of light grey, though. It reminds me of older websites.

I LOVE the picture along the top and on the left side. I almost wish I could see the top of the left picture - what does the ceiling of the church look like? I bet it's beautiful.

The top picture (with the outside of the church) feels a little dark on the right side. Is that the way the picture was taken or is it darkened intentionally?

The word "godless" isn't capitalized, but if it is for the sake of a header, is "people" supposed to be too?

I really like the 1/2 rounded corner 1/2 square corner thing going on.

thanks for the feedback Shane, the picture is darkened intentionally to put the focus on the logo but feel free to provide feedback whether there would be any better way to to so.

You are right, just a typo for the word People - I'll fix them soon

      thanks heap

well, it looks like a beautiful building with the stone and I'm wondering if it would make the header brighter by only darkening the portion under the logo (or dark from the left most portion of the header just to the right of the logo). That way, the rest of the image is more visible...

I agree with Swarat that the featured link section doesn't pop as much as I hope it to. Maybe the background could be white and you could delineate that section with color/subtle border or something like that. The rest of the page looks beautiful, rich, inspiring, then the grey portion is just there. :oI

      Hope you are well.

    Links not working

The links are not working for the original site and your screen shots a really small IMO ant chance of a re up.

My isp is rogers In Canada there is something slightly Orwellian about this bunch. Back to your site I would do a good scan of the colors in left photo and then keep the orange's consistent from there. The overall design has captured some spiritual content not easy to do with out calling George Lucas I would say well done thanx for the re up.

"hi Robert, thanks for introducing me to Orwellian and Rogers :)" Of the 2 I believe Rogers to be the more dangerous............

    Make the menu lighter

Posted on Nov 28, 2009 at 7:02 PM

    Hello,

I like your design, espacially on white but :

    • Try to make breath your top menu by remove some links or space items or put links in other block
    • Don't forget to do a footer. MAybe the solution is here : put secondary links in footer.

    Bye

I see your point on the navigation menu - I'll try to re-work on the sitemap to combine some of the relevant / similar contents to make the links number reduced.

Thanks also for the footer idea - that's a good idea

    Left side bar

Nice site. Clean. I don't like the left side bar much. Maybe move the Latest News up above the Blog entry?

      hi Joshua,

thanks for the feedback - the reason for the blog at the top section as this is the main focus for the self updated section - but I'll keep the idea of mving blog in my mind

    good start

Posted on Nov 28, 2009 at 9:39 PM

pretty solid design not too much i would change about this one. you might want to try a graphical element in the background.

    i like the gray better.

    A bit confined

Posted on Nov 30, 2009 at 8:45 AM

The design seems a bit confined. I like the colors you chose but would try and free up this design a bit.

    The curved edges.

Posted on Nov 28, 2009 at 6:57 PM

First off, let me compliment you on your great work, you have a nice design here.

I think that maybe there could be 1 improvement, and that is the curved edges. They don't seem to work when the design has a dark bg. I think that they are just a bit too curved. Maybe a slightly more gentle curve might do the trick.

Other than that, keep up the good work! :-)
