    Great improvement

I like the shape of slanted bulding, and windows make the logo more obvious as building, and of course, combined with maze underneath it to empgasize the challenge - well done

    Lose the windows - it's a keeper!

Posted on Nov 28, 2009 at 6:58 PM

    Overall I love this logo!

I find the windows a little unnecessary - you've done such a good job communicating the city vs maze visual as it is.

Have you tried using a chunkier typeface? Might read a little smoother at the smaller size if you lose the nubs that appear on the 'i' and 'L's. Just a suggestions.

If you are going to incorporate color, I would pick one word of emphasis (such as 'urban') and make it the only bold colored object.

Great design - love this piece!

Thanks, but then it wouldn't be my design and not the concept I was going for.

Yes that might be true. It was just so much easier for me to draw a picture than trying to explain the same thing with words.

    Drop the windows, Add color

Posted on Nov 29, 2009 at 11:22 PM

    Keep:

    Buildings Geometric quality of text

    Change:

Add Color (the word "urban is a good candidate) Get rid of windows (unnecessary and distracting)

    Less outlines

Posted on Nov 29, 2009 at 11:51 PM

    I love Miro's idea for this :)

I love how it's a city upright using a solid shape and on the bottom it looks like an upside-down city and it also turns into outlines. Very clever use of opposites and visually appealing!

    About the current version:

Overall I love the idea - it's very smart :)

    • I think there are just too many outlines and this creates visual clutter and confusion, especially since these outlines are similar in width to the font.

    • I don't think the font is appropriate here because it reminds me of the USSR rather than "urban". Try other sans-serif fonts.

    • The sharp angle is unpleasant and it doesn't help me identify it as a skyline.

    It's looking better and better

Now that you have simplified this quite a bit, I think it is working more as a logo now. I think I could even say your finished here. Great work!
