I like your site very much and i am fresh of off helping others with tattoo sites so i got a little bit of feedback/ideas from that . Seems to me the big challenge when show casing art (in this case art/icons)is you must reall 'dummy" down the case and let the diamond shine.

Your models/icons/artists have a good image (a recording company would kill for such raw material). The intensity of the home page is appropriate (models) however as we reach for the beams I feel 70's architect company - and then we have a circa 1980 grunge Metal monkeys handle.....further into the site I see design nods to Metal 70'era and heavy metal art in general. The nav words all over the place is not working and is old. So wjhat do I suggest ??where ever there is a need for art intensive let it be the artists(tattoos) Objective: To show the work of two tattoo artists.

Morph grunge with metal instead of letting them be so individually recognizable but above all bring all the site down to an absolute visual minimum so the tattoos themselves become the focal point. BTW if there is something tricky going on with the about us it went over my head I just got a corner of a newspaper on an unreadable slant ?.

    Objective: bring new clients.

I think one very important marketing/common sense emphasis/highlighted point is health- what ever the hygiene/health regulation is in your area EXCEED it and carry it forward with pride you will never lack clients if they feel there body art is safe.

PS your product(s) is art not t shirts although i would total support Income from associated sales here it is presented inappropriately. Head the t shirt section / sales with what it is "Something extra from Metal Monkeys" "Metal monkey togs" "monkey wear".......you get the drift.

WAW :) Thank you so much for the great feedback, you gave me a lot to process here. I will go through all the pointers you gave me and work on those areas. Especially on the hygiene/Health part....i will definitely highlight it one the website, and they will be a special area on how to take care of your tattoo soon. Regarding the About us part, yes there is a small mistake that i accidentally uploaded yesterday.

      Thanks again,

Enhance focus on tattoos on the home page

Posted on Nov 26, 2009 at 8:25 PM

I really like this design. I love the black and white, the grunge feel and the pics. i think it will resonate with the target market - both men and women.

The thing that struck me though was that i couldn't work out from the home page what metal monkeys is. What do they do? Builders? Photographers? Graffiti artists? There is only one visible tattoo that i can see - and it is virtually impossible to guess that this is a site for tattoo artists. Unless - and this is a big unless - people who are visiting this site all know who these two artists are and will recognise them from the pic. if so - then the subtlety of the message may be appropriate.

dark & simple... doesn't scream elegant to me...

Posted on Nov 27, 2009 at 11:44 AM

The font doesn't seem particularly elegant to me, though it does seem 'tattoo-artist-esque'.

I don't know by the homepage that this website is about tattoo artists. Perhaps a closer image of ivan or nikolay that displays their tattoos?

    Make metal monkey the header

Posted on Nov 28, 2009 at 3:13 PM

    Hello,

I like the style, the choice of monochrome, but I think metal monkeys should be oin header. It will leave space for making some blocks with contact, about us etc. and a real footer.

    Bye

The navigation flow is a bit hard to follow

Posted on Nov 30, 2009 at 8:02 AM

The navigation flow seems a bit hard for me to follow. It doesn't behave in the way that I would expect sometimes. The general idea and look of the site is pretty good. I think the landing page could use some improvements in design. Smaller logo, logo to the top and less boxy.
