It is really difficult to make out detail on example given.
Speaking from painful experience though beware shadows on what i would dub"regular image text" it can translate horribly on paper (web is rarely a problem - watch for your shadow merging with gradient it can get ugly.).
Im going to call the composition typical and your going to get a million font suggestions for the header-IMO this is as good as any .
I did some poster cards etc a couple of years back for Christmas -yours is much better -happy ho ho . You may be very experienced with print if your not get lots of proofs especially on the gradient any printer worth his salt should be patient and free on proofs but as easy as they are on the web they can look nasty in print(gradients).
Very hard to read the text - all of the text.
White and gold/yellow font on a bright red background is very difficult to read. I'm guessing you've added drop shadow to try and make the text more readable - this hasn't worked unfortunately.
I'd also make more of a "statement" about the date/time/place.
Order the text by importance.
I have darkened the red background - but probably is not dark enough to make the text stands out. Thanks for the feedback Marc - I will work on it
for text as wellas on the right side of the christmas tree..
Lacked creativity and the text has little reading. A person with color blindness can not read anything right. Maybe a dark blue background instead of black and a shiny behind the tree give more "life" to the layout ...
thanks for pointing out the readibility for colour blindness - good point :)
Maybe you don't have using the shadow for the text just plain text. The Christmas tree is cool!
It seems the readability is the main concern for this design - thanks a lot Gia
Thanks heap for the feedback Robert - I see your point the point with the shadow. I'll make sure I get the proof right before continue with printing
