I like your graphic, I think It's fresh, simple and clean. I would only change the order of the columns in the internal pages: switching text to right and images on the center of the page I think you could better "equilibrize" the spaces in the page. Make a Try!
I recommend you to either center the site or make its width 100% of browser space.
I'm working on a wide 20" display and the light site you have looks like a bit strange being aligned to the left side.
Hi, design is clean and nice. Good use of white space, but too much flash. Use flash where needed otherwise use HTML, so it would be more usable for the users, also would improve site's SEO. If you like visual effects, I would recommend using javascript (my choice is jQuery framework for that).
Please, no scrolling text. Also, not a big fan of sound effects on hover, get's annoying after a while.
Logo - i find it very original and creative. Good job.
Cheers Tomas
Love the logo design. Very nice design on the site, good control of contrast, white space, etc.
I agree with what others said - you really need to tone down flash, remove the moving text. A lot of media sites love to use a ton of flash, but personally I think it detracts from a rather flawless design.
The sound makes the site seem unprofessional, and it can easily get on one's nerves. The area where it makes the sound when your mouse rolls over it needs a different font, preferably arial or veranda. I just don't like that kind of font.
I think that the two circles are not a clever representation of letter "I". I just know that "picnic" is written because the url.
Hey Israel,
I'm into minimalist design so I'm happy every time I have the chance to go trough one.
I like the sleek logo ;)
Here's what I have a problem with: 1. Sound. It's annoying. It's not needed and beeping every time I hover a menu item is simply frustrating.
Colors, menu. I like the grey of the logo, I would play with the dot's (the i letter) and try some combinations. The problem comes when you try to navigate the site. The grey for the menu is way too bright and the letters to small. The clickable area is awfully small. The active menu tab is not working properly and most of the times you don't know where you are on the site.
The navigation arrows, letters don't match with the menu font / colors. E.g. you're using blue to highlight the active letter and black for the active menu tab.
The home page is an extension of your portfolio page ... it should have definitely more content, more relevant info about you and what you do, integrate social stuff there, news, etc.
The news ticker is a no-no. It's like the annoying marquee tag overused 7-6 years ago. I advise against it. Move the news to the content part, no need to have them in the header.
The contact form has a button that doesn't submit the form. I know it's still work in progress, however i would have liked to see how the validation works :)
The back button on some of the pages is not in style with the menu and is not very noticeable.
I like the more link style, it's a good call to action button.
That's about it for now. Nice work :)
Z.
I like the direction you are going but you need to select a different font and color. The font is boring as is the color.
I love it! i think it's simple and elegant. i do believe the front page there is an uncomfortable blank space between Events, Marketing, Design & the Follow us icons. Also on the We Are Picnic page, i always feel companies should give a little more about what they do but in a conversational tone and not in marketing speak. A client wants to know that you understand their needs and not cloud it behind jargon and vague statements. But overall - I think its awesome!
hi israel,
logo is very good
please take off the sound when you hover over a link..
center the page
make the left navigation maybe have darker text to make it stand out more
