ur spacing in the nav tabs are not equal. can reduce the height of input box on newsletter section!!
The website itself its good, all layed out neatly and everything in its place.
I would try and spice up the background, its just a little too bland for my liking, and it really takes away from the site.
I agree. I am not a fan of the BG but they have a parent company that uses this BG and they want the same one. So my hands are tied on this.
Thanks for your comment!

I would try and find ways of making this less busy. You have a lot lines and dividers so might think about taking out the objects (Sports Balls, building, football player, etc.). Good work though, this looks good so far.
Overall..I like how the site looks, One thing you may want to think about is the placement of the picture box (JQuery looking box) and the statement about what the Alberta Sport Development Centre is and what they are trying to do. (At the bottom above the footer) I think by moving that statement up under the main navigation bar, the visitor could quickly identify what the site is about. Just my opinion :) One other quick thing, since it appears the site would deal with multiple sports, perhaps more of a montage banner with different sports elements instead of just a swimming photo? Everything else looks like a good start, good job
I agree with those above, i think with the proper background this could really make this site pop. Also maybe if the swimmers arms could come out side of the sites wrapper it will give it a nice effect?
Thanks, I will be fixing that!
