    alignment of the word "Ingredients"

Posted on Nov 16, 2009 at 1:02 PM

    Hi GemmaLea,

I would left align the word "Ingredients" to the text below and give a bit of leading from title to text.

I'm not sure about the flap situation. Hopefully someone else can help here.

side note: Have you printed this on the card board yet? Maybe before going further experiment on this, It may not be the best type of item to fold. I did a project on the thicker type cardboard looking paper and the spot where it folded knawed my ink and looked awful. (It also has to do with what direction the fold goes to the grain of the paper.) none the less I found a different paper for my folded project.

I'm about to test it printing it small onto some of the stock. The stock is about 320 thick I think which is a bit iffy but we'll see!

The stock is the same as the background, the brown you see in the images are actually white, I scanned it in to see how it's working.

Good work on spotting the ingrediants. I'm revising it now so will hopefully upload them a bit later.

      Thanks Amy :) x

    looks good

I am not a package designer, but anyway, this looks good to me and I don´t see the flap as a problem. If the flap seems too big to you, can you print the background texture on the flap too?

The texture you see is the actual stock, so it will all be brown :)

      Thanks Miro :)

Put Fairtrade logo on front of pack

Posted on Nov 17, 2009 at 4:25 AM

    Hi Gemma,

I think your concepts are excellent, I think the use of omnichrome contrasted with the board will really make it stand out, so good work! I think overall the typeface is a good choice and your placement is simple with nice illustrations. From an on shelf perspective, I would say the only thing you are not communicating is that it is an eco/ fairtrade product. I would suggest putting the fairtrade logo on front of pack, so the consumer can see this straight away and make an informed buying decision. I hope this helps.

I'm going to try putting the logo on the front, I'm unsure so far though as it's a VERY hippy venue so everything is Fairtrade there.

      Thanks :)

Just the detail of the typeface vertical spacing

Posted on Nov 17, 2009 at 6:22 AM

The overall approach is very attractive and professional - it's a bit samey vs other premium/eco confectionary, but as this is for a cinema not a new mainstream competitor for Seeds of Change then that's actually a good thing: it says 'just as good as Green and Black'.

For me the vertical spacing is a bit crushed, but that's very picky.

    What's pocky????

The vertical spacing needs a bit of work, I'm playing with it now.

What is pocky!!?? Are you serious? Your missing out, they're probably the nicest things to ever exist!

(Similar to Mikado... if you know them?)

      Thanks! x
