    The elements on the footer

Posted on Nov 10, 2009 at 11:37 AM

I love the overall look and feel of the website and I can't seem to find any fault with it except the balancing of the elements on the footer. The right side seems to weigh more as the left side kinda lacks in content.

One suggestion is to change the positions of the left and middle columns, maybe that would make it look more balanced.

In addition, try to use a combination of red and black colours for the footer. As it is now, with the grey gradient, it looks boring.

    Content

Posted on Nov 11, 2009 at 9:25 AM

Very nice webdesign, it will really pop to the viewers eyes, but the purpose is not that good.

As this is a Design Company website, the content area must focus on the latest works, and the way things are can make a little mess to the user.

Maybe you should use one central area to the portfolio images (now you have two, and this can make users think like: What's up? Two Company? Two works? Works from differente people? WTF!). A central area will minimize the problems with content flow and other issues that can appear once you launch the site and let normal users update it.

Maybe, if you offer 2 or 3 products/services you can enphatize it in the home page, with 2/3 columns under the central content area.

Example: You have branding, print and web desing. Make 3 columns, each one with the service title, a little description and a link to a further information page with some work on that specific area. It will help google index you by the services you offer and will let the clients get wathever they want within the home page.

But, all I want to say is: just start messing it all up! Maybe you find another good way to display your data that you think: Oh God, how i don't think this before?

Final consideration: Really, really like it. It's awesome! Awesome work! Just need a little polish in the content! Congrats for the awesome work!

    Jags too much?

Posted on Nov 11, 2009 at 2:29 PM

I like the torn paper/jag effect, but it seems a tad hard (for my liking anyway), but otherwise I think you're doing everything right. Nice intro, easy contact, etc.. nice!

    alignment ?

Posted on Nov 11, 2009 at 9:44 PM

I really like your site, very professional looking, sleek, clean, and I also like the colours...

Each section seems to have a different vertical alignment, maybe I'd stick to a grid to unify the whole page. (that's including the subsections like in the footer "some of our client" section, the client orange logo should maybe be aligned with the testimonial text ?)

    Good Start... Time to edit

Posted on Nov 15, 2009 at 5:22 AM

Creating your own website is extremely difficult. I am torn as to how to address this. Your site needs a hard edit so the really good stuff can shine like your star.

    I give you four examples:

1 Home it is about overall organization

I agree on the home page. Put 1 box of your featured work and take me to your portfolio... But there is the editing problem You spread out into different sections your portfolio. Along your top navigation. Here is where I am stumbling your target is small to medium business... They need all of this a logo to go on business cards to go on their web site. They rarely know how to work with a designer and you have good stuff but you added more confusion for your target market by not making it easy for them to see you taking care of them.

Most who commented here are tripping up this issue.

    2. Logos.

All very nice. But again editing out unnecessary stuff: the magnifying glass is distracting and cheapens your work. And you gain no real value by enlarging it. Also I cannot contemplate each logo with the huge pile of competing logos you presented it with to me. Nor do you show how the logos were used— on a business card, web site or whatever.

    3. The inquiry is way to much. Nice form but please every new clients wants to feel special and that their situation is unique. Give easy, quick, and personal options to get a hold of you. To speak with you or contact you directly. Again ti boils down to editing what you have there. Maybe list your services but not as part of a form.

    4. Again it is edit! In the About. Lose the trying to sound big. It is way to much of "We" with no face to it. Yet you write in a friendly and approachable way. Tell who are you and why would I want to work with you.

Really your good points are clean well done designs. So cut out the cutter and let your work shine. Anytime you think you need to add a bit ask yourself is it necessary. If the answer is nope the cut it out!

You have a friendly warm style to your writing that is at odds with the corporate suit you are obviously not comfortable wearing. So take it off and be yourself.

Last but not least organize the work for your target. They do not need all these examples. Edit edit edit.

Over all on the right track.

I would change the content area

Posted on Nov 09, 2009 at 7:03 PM

Hum...I liked it, but I would change the content columns.

It confuses me: why did you create 2 boxes to show your work? I think it's to separate web from graphic, but I don't think it's a good idea.

    Colors are nice!

(Sorry for my bad, bad english)

Looks very nice, just make sure to have content in every page because now you have a few pages with no content and it looks wierd.

    Nice stuff!

Posted on Nov 10, 2009 at 7:15 AM

I like this quite a bit, good work. The top should be simpler though, get rid of the star/city scene. It looks a little grungy compared to the rest of your design. Good stuff though!
