    Color scheme

Hi Alex. I really like what you've come up with. It's very clean. The header is nicely done.

As to the points you seek feedback on:

    1. I like the blue. In the header, maybe lighten the area behind the robot just a bit to make him pop a little more. As for the gray, it's a bit too dark, and there's a bit too much of it. Perhaps if the background for the "software testing" section were pure white, this would help.

2a. As for content, I'm trying to decipher the hierarchy. Is the testimonial in the header the first thing I should look at, or the content under the "software testing" header? Also, I'm not really certain what product or service is being offered. Maybe the header area would be better suited to that information.

2b. I like the way the photo breaks up the main content in the first mock-up. It might be a tad wide, so you may want to consider how to narrow that text block. The text column for the second mock-up is too wide.

Overall, nicely done. Keep up the good work.

      Thanks a lot for feedback.

We've consider changing testimonials for the sharp descriptive text, or even a slider with both.

    1st concept

Is the strongest of the two, however the colour scheme is a bit dull.

I like the blue, it gives it that certain blueprint feel.

not too keen on the dark beige grey colour, I don't think it compliments the blue all that well, suggest that you go to kuler.adobe.com and add your blue colour and then see what colours compliment it.

Also, would like to see how the navigation is going to work...

    Overall it's a good start...

Thanks for the kuler tip, will check it. However, I was thinking about high contrast using that dark beige. I will try to use some cold "steel" gray background, instead of beige.

The navigation should be pretty simple, using the top menu for more important pages and footer menu for the rest of them. The only fancy thing I was thinking about is a hover effect for top menu, that's it.

    background color

    1) Have you tried lighter blues for the background, I think that the grey is not the best choice.

    2) Add a header under the "Robotic efficiency" explaining what you do. I think it´s a good thing you have used an image in the first concept under the "Software testing". However this might not be the best image. You might also divide the texts into smaller chunks with headlines, to make the reading easier.

    Good Start

Posted on Nov 04, 2009 at 8:38 AM

First of all, let me start off by saying that this is a great start. I like the colors and the imagery you have used. I would make a few modifications in order to make this design better. Extend the lighter gray content area so that is lines up with the edges of the blue box. The typography is could use a little work. For the header I would take the amount of text down and use some sort of fun text treatment. The content in the gray box seems a little dull. I would try and liven the text up a bit. In general I think you need to make this a bit more fun. I would play off the robot that you already have and go all out.

    different robot poses

Posted on Nov 04, 2009 at 9:12 PM

Now that robot is sure to become a star with your customers! I think this is such a great idea, it makes a somewhat boring service like software testing very charismatic while still staying close enough to its roots in technology.

So full marks for purpose and originality! I just love it.

Design-wise, I think it's perfect except for the main content text flow. Try having a bigger line height there or another headline in between. Also, I would not float the text below the picture but rather keep it in it's column.

Engagement-wise, I think you could show that robot in different poses on different pages of your site to make it even more interesting.
