This is a logo I designed for my webportfolio (it hasn't been made yet, I figured the logo was the first step in brand identity.) Please tell me if the symbol / shape works, and any ideas you have for improvements! I'm trying to represent a unique, whimsical, fairytale-ish, victorian, fanciful, elegant and creative brand that designs websites, illustrations + more but those are the main ones.
Anyway tell me what you think please! And tell me which ideas you like best! I love feedback so don't be shy XD
EDIT: This is a revision of my old concept. I tried to make it less 'clip arty' as some of you guys said by making it less detailed. No more ribbons 8( I also tried a different umbrella shape. Hopefully it is less 'clip-arty.' Still having trouble with the whimsical / lolita aspect of it.
I know that the difference is only slight, but there are short and long handles. Maybe I should have made that more obvious, whoops.

Nice, shape is good.
I would try having the umbrella at a jaunty angle, that and typeface changes, and a bit of colour would definitely add some whimsy :)
Also I would look at including something to say what you do - either as a graphic element or a strap line.

The all black logo with the umbrella in the middle is amazing. I love it! Good work on listening to feedback and getting something that works REALLY well. Your font works amazingly well with the umbrella. GREAT WORK on this!

New silhouette of umbrella is really great. Has just enought character, ruffly-ness, and chic, without being overdone. You did a good job getting rid of the cheesy factor. I do rather like the umbrella between the words, with the words in the lighter color.
Like Miro said, you may want to play with a more fanciful font - but I think the one you have fits great also.
Will you be using a black & gray color pallette? Or will you try out colors?

I for one really like the typeface. It's unique and stands out. I prefer the umbrella at the center but I feel the umbrella could use more expression such as white slashes depicting depth or lines to either side depicting shade.

I'd wouldn't try to force the type into the umbrella design at all. the umbrella can stand on it's own, and the text could sit next to it.
That is beautifully expensive. I'll see if I can find free versions. Thanks for your suggestion!
