    Size of the picture

Really like the site. Only thing I would change if it were me is the large picture. I see the design aspect, but from a usability standpoint, it takes my attention there and from there I'm not sure where I should look next or what you want me to do first.

The large picture is actually a slideshow of 5 photos, not just one static image.

Is not that great on Bistro Dragon!

Overall it's an improvement, but I would be lying if I said I liked it!

The four menu Icons in green are really ugly, I think you really want to lay this site as you would a digital signage / menu board.

The background is pretty naff too, I gotta say I know it's an oriental theme, but sometimes you can create that without being overly tacky.

I think you need to go back to the drawing board and come up with some other ideas.

    Good Luck!

    Slightly better

I like the change of the 4 buttons but still think the things I mentioned in the previous version need to be changed. The texture really needs to be changed and alignment is off.

    less boxed in

Posted on Oct 27, 2009 at 9:12 AM

I'd get rid of some of the boxes surrounding your offers. I think they would look better as text incorporated into the page. At the very least, I would change the "special offer" green boxes to be more subdued, like the "contact info" box and the others that look like that.

    alignment

Posted on Oct 27, 2009 at 11:24 AM

The buttons look alot better on this version, but they need to be aligned better, to the left or the right, or either make them take up the full width.

The footer part needs a bit of work, im not a fan of the 'follow' buttons. You could also make the boxes go full width. The middle box could be alot wider, and therefore mean your footer isn't quite so large.

I was thinking of only using 3 boxes and aligning them under the large slideshow ... would that help?

Top notch! Very nice site! I would streamline the amount od diffrent fonts on the homepage. But that's all. ;)

    colors and background

Posted on Oct 27, 2009 at 2:38 PM

I think the background looks a bit depressing. How about using red color somewhere? Usually everything connected to China is colored red.

You're right, red is a very traditional Chinese color, but my client wanted to go for a more modern/contemporary look so I made it a point to leave out any red. Also, since it IS such a common color for both China and restaurants in general, I wanted to be different.

I see, that is a good reason not to go red.
