The design seems better without a background.

This is a great twist on an older image. i'm guessing your going to do some 3d work on this as well, i'd love to see the progress. Great work on this!

Thanks, Nate! Actually I think I'll leave it in 2D for now. I'll upload the logo inside the web design once I have something to show.

    No backround...

Go without the paper backround. It's easier to match the fonts with the symbol if you simplify it. You could erase that corner from the head of the skull... I can't understand if it's a hat or a horn!

Overall, I like the concept! Very dark!

Yeah, no one is in favor of the papers :) They do make the logo more cluttered. Thanks for the feedback.

Remove corner from top-right of the skull.

    I love this, nice job!

I agree with the other folks about the papers make things feel cluttered... I prefer the simplicity of the version that does not have them.

Have you tried top add "film slots" in the ribbons that dangle/flow from the mask? It's tight, but you may be able to fit them and that would help to visually describe what you do. Just a suggestion :-)

Dark, yet very playful. I love the bold and powerful imagery you've created. I also like the idea of the skull (you?) behind the mask -- the man behind it all -- the visual metaphor really works well.

This logo is going to really look great on the screen and I really like the temporary stage you have put there (http://www.darkstagestudio.com)

def w/o papers! also agree about the 'sticky-out' corner bit of the skull otherwise ... perfect for purpose

    very nice work

I too say that don't use the papers. Have you tried adjusting the levels so that the skull would be white and the mask darker grey?
