    The navigation bar.

Posted on Oct 24, 2009 at 11:10 AM

Everything looks very good, same goes for positioning. Though I would make one thing better, the navigation bar. It is a little bit boring, make the grey a little darker. Add a little lighting on the buttons.

Good job, looks very very good.

I think the main photo is too tall/large.

Posted on Oct 25, 2009 at 11:15 AM

Good design. I like the version with the green and blue tab navigation better.

I would move the angular pointer above "Areas of Expertise" to the right side and present it on one line with minor adjustments to the other text there accordingly.

    Really nice work.

    Read More buttons

Posted on Oct 24, 2009 at 12:52 AM

Hey, Good job. I think the colors you chose match the design and the layout is just right. I would put the read more buttons on the right side of each box, not the left.

    The banner

Posted on Oct 24, 2009 at 6:50 AM

The image is great, but the text on top of it, needs to stand out more.

Also the areas of expertise part need to stand out more, the grey text is hard to read, that area could do with being done up.

    The grey navigation buttons

Posted on Oct 24, 2009 at 7:40 AM

From usability point of view, I would change the grey navigation buttons to something else, mabye blue? Gray is usually used as inactive content. Otherwise you're heading to the right direction! Nice!

    Areas of Expertise

Posted on Oct 24, 2009 at 12:31 AM

Looks very very good, Swarat! Only thing that comes to my mind is that should you make the words in the "Areas of Expertise" box more visible. Just change the gray typeface color.

    tabs

I am not sure about the tabs at the top, perhaps they could have some texture to them instead of just plain color.

what is it they are selling? so many times people forget to make that the primary thing we get when we see a website.

    1. Where am I? (what is this thing?)
    2. What can I do here?
    3. Why should I stay?

Use the text on the right to tell me what they sell and what I can use them for.

    look at sites like

Layout work really well, navigation not so much

Posted on Oct 26, 2009 at 9:00 AM

Your first concept is the strongest. I would shrink the logo and navigation. I would also rework the nav to look more organic and less cookie cutter and bold.

pl. can you be more clear abt what do u mean by term "organic"overhere and less cookie cutter ???

By organic I mean less square. The navigation is very angular and rectangular. Think about maybe curving out the corners and using a less bold colors.

By cookie cutter, I am alluding to the design being based off of a table. Everything is very confined and organized which is good to an extent, but too much is bad.

Don't hear me saying this site design is bad. You have a lot of great elements in it, just work on some of the details and this will be a great design.

    great job

Posted on Oct 26, 2009 at 2:50 PM

the colors on the first one are the best. looks to me like "prominence" and "excellence" are misspelled. overall it's so good, it makes the logo look like it needs improvement. (i don't know if you made that too)

    Maybe a bit too clean...

Posted on Oct 24, 2009 at 11:54 AM

Overall, looks like you succeeded in your atempts to make it clean and very easy to read :) i like the layout and the colors match logo quite good.

but i am also a fan of grungy websites, so it looks a bit "too clean" for me.

And, i think you should work on the menu more, at the moment it feels too plain.
