Solid design, in addition to the portion comment, I'd work on the shadows. Some make it look like objects are floating mid-air and others look grounded. Pick one and make it consistent.
I do like it a lot though. Clean, straight forward.
I think John means that you should make the shadows of the flat objects (cds, papers) shorter than higher objects (camera, pencil, computer).
Here you go: http://smple.com/screenshots/SS-2009.10.19-14.27.41.jpg
I really like the concept, but the proportions of the different items are bugging me a little. I would rather like to see the camera a computer larger than the pencil.
Overall it's good though!
I agree with everyone's issue with proportions... and the things that are most out of place (dimensions) are in the top right corner... i.e. the pencils, push pins, eraser...
I'd also match the tone of all the objects.. The laptop, camera, cd covers, cds have a brownish hue while again the top right corner seems out of place because they look like they're in white light.
Besides that, I think you have a lovely design going on here.. keep up the great work!!
Hi Swarat,
I see this looks better.
Since a lot of people are still seeing the proportions and clutter as an issue.
Maybe.
Take all side objects out of the picture. Gather pics of them onto one page. and proportion your heart out so they all seem fitting to each other, including lighting.
Then slowly place the objects back into position, Is there at least one object there representing each of the services that the site offers? After that do you really need more to get the point across or is it just decoration? I can see maybe less CD's ?
(By having moved the pins from the bottom corner I am more focused on what is on the page.)
Still it is a good idea to hold onto, it just needs tweaked.
your sites looks like a top view, so it should have all elements in the same proportion. the clips in the containers aren't clipping nothing, should pay attention to it too. you can use post it and handwriting text. coffee dirty mark, some cuts in paper...well, more real, maybe dirty and grunge a bit will add a more real visual. ah, the wood background is cool.
There is still too much to focus on and my eye goes to the content last. You really need to work on hierarchy here.
Concept is a bit confusing due to proportion of the objects are off. Also ,seems a bit cluttered to me. I would recommend a single image for each concept. The design looks like it is pinned to a wall not a desktop.
Really like this, agree that the proportions of the surrounding bits and bobs could be better (camera too small). However, the important part of the site, ie. the copy, looks a bit dull. Maybe a sub-head or call-out to liven it up a bit?
I really like it. I am with everyone else about the items needing to be bigger so you can really see them.
Good Job! Looks cool!
can u be little more specific about where u are feeling problems with the shadow..and their solution...??? anyway thanks for your word of encouragement
