It's really hard for me to critique this site as it doesn't seem to be in English. I don't really understand the flow of everything. When I first get to the site I have no clue as to what the site is about. I guess you are basing an entire site off of interviews with these people, it just doesn't seem to get that message through to me.
Loading times are fine.
Hope that helps and make sense. Let me know if you have any questions.
Woh! I didn't even know there was a menu. You'll have to fix that, I just found it. The menu is way too hidden.
No, seriously. It's kind of crazy.
I knew exactly what to do and don't have a clue what anything said. Click on a face for a bio or a link for news/information. Again, the language escapes me. Load times where fine.
I can't really speak on navigation b/c of the language barrier.
Issues in usability, I user FF 3.5 and when I click the drop down it loads like this: http://www.smple.com/screenshots/SS-2009.10.16-08.14.47.jpg
The beard is awesome ;-)
Thanks, John, this is very valuable information to me. And we have to check that FF-issue, that doesn't look nice... did you see content of the menu at all?
Hi there,
I find the design really old school like.
Answers: 1) When i visit the site, i feel overwehlemed by number of "boxes". What I am supposed to do? I recommend to highligh some introdction text. 2) yes 3) i feel lost, i dont understand the purpose of upper-pop-up-like window getting over my screen. Use traditional breadcrum navigation. Logo in upper left cornen shlould lead to Homepage. 4) I feel like vistiting 10 years old corporate web.
I would definitely change the design ( if you can ).
Cheers,
Jan
Unfortunately the design will stay as it is now. But even more important is that we have fix it so that nobody feels lost, thanks for telling us this.
A very easy fix would be putting a simple fotter on the bottom of the page. Just a white text, with basic links like contact, about us, home page.

I am a little confused about the site, obviously I can't read it...I finally found the menu, I would suggest you add in some simple icons, so that people get it straight away.
Also, there is too much blue might I suggest that you add in a contrasting colour such as white or grey behind the people...
also the little flashy rollovers on each pic are too eratic...
overall design is nice,
Thank you Aaran, seems like we'll add somekind of icon to the menu, so many have commented about this.
The site is braking away nicely from the traditional website style, but having said that it brings some confusion with the unexpected navigation. The faces are all very clear and they are easy to use.
Thank you for telling this, especially since you might be the only one who understands the language :-D
Hi Miro!
After viewing the presented site I only noticed a few things of possible concern:
First, The man with the beard needs revision. On linking page (the close up) the beard needs photoshop revision. I can totally see that the background was cut out from the beard. Other pictures show a smooth, clean erase. Also photoshop the piece of hair that has shed onto his shoulder. The bottom left man's picture, as seen in larger version, his eyeglasses are reflecting something... unlike the man on top whose glasses are clear viewed to his face.
Next, I would maybe make the backgrounds of the people a different color, as suggested, from the rest of the blocked areas or visa versa. Maybe also make your main block another color?
Even though it is in a different language. I feel maybe the top left block is a main block? Since that is the natural place to start. If it isn't I need that clarifying pull of color difference. I'm assuming that the center blocks are different data from the rest of the blocks, yet, I am confused since the two top corner boxes are treated with the same color.
Another tid bit is that the woman in the bottom right box and the man in the bottom left box do not line up to the first line of text in their block as the rest of the people in their blocks do.
Lastly, when the curser highlights an area the white highlight presented is rounded and not square (fitting to the box) so I see little dark corners that very depending on the pic behind it.
I like how the pages look when I navigate from page to page.
Lastly, look out in the large text paragraphs that a single word is not left on it's own line. ( reword or change sentence length to avoid.)
I also think a contrasting color for the background will help the the viewer focus on the information rather than want to wander away from it into the deep blue.
Overall, I feel this site looks professional and is fitting for other professionals to read. I also enjoyed the page pulldown.
Hi Amy!
Thank you very much for your feedback! Some comments here:
Yes, you got the "information structure" right, the top left block is the main block with link to the general information. The center block holds the blog links.
I guess we better do some more photoshopping on the pictures. And work on on the text too.
Thanks!
i liked the overall concept and design of the site..the only issue i find out difficult is how to get back to homepage as there is no options (besides i dont understand the language)
The front page link is now at the breadcrumb on top of the page, "Olkiluoto 4". The logo will also be a link to the front page after this service pack.
Some translations here: Katso sisällysluettelo = Look at the menu, Sulje sisällysluettelo = Close the menu, klikkaa ja lue = click and read, Tästä puhutaan = Talked about
Thank you very much, this helps and makes sense. Without knowing the language, can you guess how to see the menu? When (if) you see the menu do feel this site might have a clear structure or no structure to navigate?
