...to me (who doesn't own an iPhone). How about adding graphical signs for the times left?

    It works...

The nice thing about this app is that it doesn't need to be something completely out of the box. I think the simpler the better considering that when I open this app I just want straight forward information about my battery. I'd say don't over complicate things with this and just go with the design you have here.

    Spelling mistakes.

Posted on Oct 09, 2009 at 12:31 PM

You spelled 'until' and 'standby' wrong.

In terms of design it's fine. You could get more creative with the way the information is displayed though. For example, you could have one category and time take up the whole bottom area and then have the bottom are loop through them all. Or something.

The only thing I'd like to comment on would be the typeface. Maybe a more elegant one would take your design one step further.

    Icons, Buttons, List Style

Posted on Oct 10, 2009 at 7:26 AM

I think some things are wrong with your desing.

From a usability point of view: labels ("Talk, "Standby",...) look just like buttons and I presume they aren't .

We read left to right so I would consider putting the labels on the left and use an icon to represent each item.

Also I don't like the list style. It's like a scrollable list, but there won't be more items than the ones you have right now. Why make it scrollable or look like a scrollable one?

Take a look at iStat if you haven't ( http://bjango.com/apps/istat/ ). It's a nice clean app that displays lots of information, including battery life.

Also you can add visualization options to make it more appealing like a chart view, a text view, different themes?...

As you don't need the user to interact with the app, add a little bit of eye candy (without interfering with the simple functionality). Make it look awesome with a gorgeous non default UI:

    Blue Wind's BatteryLedPro: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=327169361&mt=8

    iStudiez Pro: http://istudentpro.com/

    WeightBot: http://tapbots.com/weightbot

A visual appealing or elaborated UI doesn't mean complicated.

The battery is a bit blurred

The design is perfect for this purpose, just make it pixel perfect and maybe align the text to the left (text displaying the amounts of time).

    It's ok

But not great... I have an Iphone, and one of things I like most about it is it simplicity design.

There's something not quite right about the design, I mean, the blue are they buttons or just icons?

The battery is big but fuzzy, the font is all wrong, and if you are going to put adverts in it at the bottom, show an example so that we can see how it fits in with the rest.

Not to mention there are spelling mistakes, yeah I am not the best at spelling either, but I generally wont post something, if there are typos.

Colours - I also think that you have to much vibrancy... tome it down a bit.
