Hello,
i think you should use the font only one time for the logo. And that's all. Cause it's too much of curves and it's not very readable.
Then, I think you shoud work a little bit on the " pricelist icon" wich isn't very creative. ( may be something like a book or something...
Otherwise, i like the header ( there is just that font for nav you should change into something more classic ( Times, Myriad, Helvetica, Lucida or even Rockwell, why not... )
Ok i understand, sometimes you have to deal with client's tastes... In that case, may be you could change the logo font ? So as to be different from the titles.
i totally agree with Vincent about this. While in college i learned something very important. A font in a logo is a logo, but if you use the same font throughout, then it just becomes a font.
My eye is being pulled every witch way with this design. There are too many focal points. I also think your typography is suffering a bit. I would try and organize your content a bit better and have one large focal point instead of several.
I like your logo and the elegant font with it but I think that scripty font should only be with the logo.
Your colors work well together, just work on organizing things a bit and I think you'll get there with this design.
Great feedback Nate, Thanks a lot for taking the time. I will definitely reorganize the typography and the focal point as well.
Thanks again, ivo
quick tips:
I like the browns and darkish colors for the wine theme. Find the background a bit boring; it could use another shade.
I second the font remark. The logo is quite okay, but I shouldn't use the font anywhere else.
I would drop the sound part (who wants that?) and make a nice graphical element for the price list. This way, they distract from the sites top navigation.
I like the logo, but the font on the headings is really hard to read, and is abit of a put off.
On the menu, you need to work on the padding on the right side, as the bottom option almost goes under the main content area.
The download button is a little bland, maybe try a little icon of some sort.
On the main content area, again the Wiineries and Contact us, brush a little too close to the edges.
I do like the header, its very good.
I like the logo area. I like the highlight with the shadow, but everything else looks kinda thrown in. The layout needs some attention. There is really no flow.
I don't think you would need the additional info ion the home page if you have links in the nav bar for them. I think you should add the price list in the nav bar as well.
I love the font logo, but i think you need not use it everywhere, choose a more balance font like like Trade Gothic or Avenir, that will help you with some of the balance of the page!
This is a very elegant looking website. I like it a lot.
I'm not sure about some of that overly curvy text - some of it looks a bit difficult to read if people are quickly scanning - might consider toning it down just a bit.
You got navigation links all over the place - at the top, sides and all over the front of the homepage. Perhaps this encourages exploration - but it might also cause a bit of confusion as well. I would be careful here.
Love the colors - they evoke a kind of earthy feel that goes well with wines - especially red wines.
Hi, thanks. Very valid points to improve. I totally agree with the Price List icon. I was so concentrated on the interactivity of the site and i totally missed that one ugly button out.
Regarding the font I was as well concerned about the readability but the client really liked it that way. So i just sticked with it.
thanks, Ivo
