| Minor Problem on at_place.jpg | |
| 1 | navigation needs to let users know where they are at. |
| 2 | nothing on this page is intuitive to the user about what is going on. |
Hello Tim - First off...welcome to the community. My initial reaction upon first viewing is what is this site all about? There are no images to engage the user what-so-ever. After browsing the site, it appears to be a good idea, but it is lacking a more in depth "about us" page. The only CTA on the landing page is a Sign In button for existing members. You need to attract new users, therefore you need a CTA for them.
There are 2 search input fields on the landing page, what is the difference between the 2? And the Search for Location to Begin text input field has no submit button for that input field. Also, there is no form validation on your contact page. I get that this is in Beta mode, but there are too many key components missing for this app to have been pushed up to production. As a developer, you know what I'm talking about.
On the back-end, SEO efforts should be utilized. You have some inline/embedded styling issues, throw all your styles into your external CSS.
Overall, the concept itself is a good idea, it just needs to be QA'd thoroughly and have your designers do their magic before putting into a production environment.
Please see my notes.....
anytime...looking forward to seeing next version :-)

The ideaIdea of "area tags" is really good. It just needs some more imagination in the design area. Maybe make it in a circle, to more accurately visualize the idea of tagging/describing a place?
I saw in your comment on Rebecca's review that you were trying to sketch the idea before you ask a designer to do the job, and this is just fine. But from a designer's point of view, I can tell you that they don't need to be told how to arrange the items on the page. This is their basic knowledge that they get during first year of studies. So for a designer, just make a list or really rough sketch of what you need to be done. As for the content of your site, I really like the idea. With more colour and interaction it can be a really brilliant and popular thing. Good luck!
Hi Ania,
Thanks for your feedback. Looks like I need to get a designer to look at it quick-smart.
Thanks also for the positive feedback around the idea, its something that I believe could be useful and have found lacking myself when I want to visit areas close by my home, but am always confronted with either out of date information or personal reviews which don't contain information about a place, just opinion.
Thanks for taking the time to review the site.

Great idea! How about a map?Hi Tim! This looks like a great idea! It would be nice to see a map or a calendar on the home page to allow me to start interacting with the site right away!
The (not logged in) link and login are redundant. Suggest to remove the (not logged in) link

Hi Rebecca,
Thanks for your valuable feedback. This gives me a lot to add to the to-do list.
I already know the home page is missing some sparkle, this is my weakness coming from a coding background. I was hoping to get the concept worked out before handing it over to a designer.
Thanks so much for your time and valuable feedback.
