| Minor Problem on Home Page.png | |
| 1 | this is the only shadowed effect on the page, I would either add the same shadow to other elements or take off all together for consistency. |
| 2 | this box is about 5px shorter in width than the boxes below it. |
| 3 | I would offset the color of this column. The gray is just too flat. |
| 4 | this title heading appears to be larger than the 2 below it. Is that on purpose? |
| 5 | these should stand out more and be stronger CTA's |
| 6 | too much white space |
| Minor Problem on Developer Dashboard.png | |
| 1 | alignment appears to be off |
| 2 | what is this telling me? If I'm getting apps, why do I need this information? |
| Minor Problem on App Info.png | |
| 1 | what is this for?
|
| 2 | I would change the color of this button since it is not a CTA like the other green buttons throughout the site. |
Hi Simon - Overall, you have a pretty clean design. There are a few alignment issues and some inconsistencies with widths of some elements on the page. The colors work well also. Its almost a little too plain though. I think by adding some shadow effects or something you could make the page come alive a little more.
please see my notes....
| Minor Problem on Home Page.png | |
| 1 | Very large area of white space between horizontal nav and the main banner area. It's very open compared to the white space below the banner and feels a bit unbalanced. |
| Minor Problem on Developer Dashboard.png | |
| 1 | The treatment of this box of tabbed content is different to that on the home page. I prefer the flatter treatment on the home page to these gradient treatments but that's a personal thing - either work as well as each other but the flat treatment feels more in keeping with the rest of your treatments on the site. |
| Positive Feature on Home Page.png | |
| 1 | Good clear call to action. Nice space around the buttons following all the rules for high conversion rates |
| 2 | like the use of tabbed content here and in the box below |
| 3 | Good call to action buttons in green - really following all those conversion rules :) |
| Positive Feature on Developer Dashboard.png | |
| 1 | Particularly like the design of this page. Good colours and lovely clean well thought out design. Clear hierarchies, good organization of content. |
| New Idea on Home Page.png | |
| 1 | Maybe move this vertical nav to the right. This way you give your prime screen estate to the Featured Apps, Popular Apps instead of to the sub navigation which people will just as easily see on the right as in iTunes app store |
Overall this is great work in terms of usability. Follows all the rules.
You've got good organized content with good clear hierarchies. You've grouped content together into tabbed areas so you don't overwhelm the site visitor with too much information but the information is there if needed and clear to find.
The calls to action are green with plenty of space around them and are nice and clear to see.
One idea may be to move the vertical sub navigation to the right as it's the prime part of the screen and then to use that for the featured apps etc.
Just needs some final tweaking for total consitency across all areas and some minor alignment issues which Rebecca has already mentioned.
Finally the main and only real criticism I have is that the whole site has no branding. It lacks identity and personality.
If you could add that then I think it's great. The other thing is that I notice you have a space for an ad near the bottom of one page. May be worth putting some ad space into the site further up the page as it's very hard to sell ads below the fold.
| Critical Problem on Home Page.png | |
| 1 | Header needs work and the buttons are just too plain. |
| New Idea on Home Page.png | |
| 1 | Nice list but personally, I would suggest you put the search bar just below the USP Banner and place it horizontally. The Games and Apps can have pull down menu since you're only going to select one item at a time. |
| 2 | Spread the Featured Apps column to fit the width of the USP Banner. You can accomodate more featured apps you placed the desciption in a vertical strip. You could fit a maximum of 5 apps that way. |
Nice layout but it is too long. Needs a few tweaks before going live. It's a mobile app website but it is not optimized for mobile browsing. That's something you need to look into.
| Positive Feature | |
Items list & tabsThis part looks nice and clean. Well done
| New Idea | |
Improve top menuLooks like design missed here
Generally speaking it looks nice for prototype/concept but final design should be improved.
Good luck!
are you wanting others to post blank reviews on your concept as well?
Hmm, actually i thought i've posted my feedback. Strange that it is empty. Thanks for notice :)
| Minor Problem | |
White SpaceThere is a bit uneven white space between the top navigation and the main visual.
| Positive Feature | |
LayoutLooks clean and simple.
| New Idea | |
ColorsYou may want to look at using orange with blue - to provide a better contrast.
Your design will be good fit the app directory website.
Like the hierarchy that you have here. Featured, Popular and Most Downloaded. (Seems to business/metrics driven)
Your home page lacks a bit of the message to the developers if you are planning on targeting them.
Overall looks clean. Good job!
Hey mate, think some elements could use bit polishing up, bit bland and boring for me :( but other than that ..looks clean and easy to use.
| Minor Problem on Home Page.png | |
| 1 | eliminate some of this deadspace |
| 2 | Ensure that this part of the nav. is above the fold |
| Minor Problem on Developer Info.png | |
| 1 | awkward space - not sure if you can correct |

use disqus.com for commentshttp://www.disqus.com has a great already built comment system, I would suggest using them for your comments
ranking system?what about a ranking system for most popular/downloaded apps
| Serious Problem on Home Page.png | |
| 1 | The design is clean, though it looks just like the old chrome web store which was a direct rip from itunes. |
| Positive Feature on Home Page.png | |
| 1 | Very clean and to the point, great call to actions. |
To me it is following the same design that itunes and chrome uses and used. nothing that really stands out to me.
| Positive Feature on Developer Dashboard.png | |
| 1 | Very clean and simple. I love the charts on this page. |
| Positive Feature on Developer Info.png | |
| 1 | Navigation is long but not overwhelming |
| Minor Problem on Home Page.png | |
| 1 | i think its nice to put it below the " featured apps" at the right.. and do this for the the other thumbnails. |
| Minor Problem on App Info.png | |
| 1 | I don't know what is this for? same with the other at the bottom and in the comment button. |
Overall, the design is clear and very professional. Easy to navigate.
| Positive Feature | |
Design represents the industry wellI think the overall usability of the website is really good. However, i noticed you have most popular most downloaded apps and popular apps which is basically the same thing. Instead of most downloaded apps I would have a section for the latest apps.
This page is the developers dashboard. The graphs show what apps are running on what systems
