| Critical Problem on http://outdoorposh.com | |
| 1 | This is a very big mistake, i have to struggle to see the links |
| 2 | the logo tells me you are selling pens |
| 3 | What is this? |
| 4 | very big mistake, the basket covers the links, get rid of it. |
| 5 | you have no consistency, this image has rounded corners on the right, the "Find us on Facebook" has no rounded corners, and the Categories have all rounded corners |
| 6 | this is not good, put a nice banner here, a professional banner |
| 7 | the background is a very bad idea, make it white and you will not be disappointed, after all this is an eCommerce not a blog, the focus should be on your products not the background |
| 8 | make the footer as wide as your website is |
| 9 | this is not aligned |
| Critical Problem on http://www.outdoorposh.com/barrel-picnic-basket-for-2/ | |
| 1 | you did a very good job of camouflaging the "Subscribe" button |
| 2 | where is the Footer? Camouflaged i guess... |
Hi Dave, your website needs a lot of work, the main problem is that it does not look like an eCommerce at all, for example "Find us on Facebook" is more important than "10% Off Your Next Order", i suggest you take top 10 eCommerce websites from the related branch and you analyze them, try to find the similarities, and than you will understand what i'm saying, please see my notes and good luck with your project.
Couldn't of said it better myself! Great Review!
The screenshot is not accurate for some reason. Please go to the actual site. Not all, but a lot of these issues are correct on the real site. And thanks for all the input. Please re-review after you look at the actual site. Thanks

Where am I supposed to look?If I don't know where to go, I can't buy your products, which is the whole point of an e-commerce site.
There's a lot going on on this first page. The combination of the distracting background image and the unclear organizational hierarchy is making my eyes bounce around the screen a little bit like pinballs.
For example, it is difficult to tell where your category images begin and end, mostly due to them all having a similar green background as your website background image. I would tone down the background a bit (such as making it more translucent for example).
As for organization, I can't tell if the first row of categories (baskets, backpacks, and totes) correspond to the two large images on top or the three images below (or neither?) If I click on the first image am I being taken to "Picnic Baskets" or "Picnics for Two"? If I can't find (or browse) what I'm looking for, I can't buy it.
Just my two cents. Thanks!

Most of my comments still stand even after viewing the live site. I still couldn't tell if the images went to the top label or the bottom. You background image is still too distracting. I'm looking at that instead of your products. I would alphabetize your categories so I can browse easier. And I can't read any of the black text at the bottom of the screen. Also I find myself scrolling a lot just to see what's on the page.
| Serious Problem on http://outdoorposh.com | |
| 1 | Your navigation needs to be larger. It gets lost on the background. |
| 2 | If you keep the carousel, I would make it smaller and slow it down. It moves very fast and kind of makes me dizzy. |
| New Idea on http://outdoorposh.com | |
| 1 | I think this section should take the place of the carousel. It shows what your product is right off the bat. That is more important than romantic setting images, I think in this instance. Very nice photos of the product too. |
| 2 | This would be good as a large footer if you added your contact information to it. I would leave off the ice cream social icons though. |
You have a picked a lot of great imagery but I don't know if it fits for an ecommerce site that sells picnic baskets. I think that you should first and for most take out the huge carousel. My first impression was that the site was dating site because of all the romantic images. The size also takes up a lot of space on the main page. I have to scroll way down to see that you actually sell a product.
Also I would go with a background that is plainer. Right now the site is very busy I am not sure where my eye should land first.
Thank you so much for your opinion and for taking the time.
| Minor Problem on http://outdoorposh.com | |
| 1 | Considering adding an opacity filter to the background so that the buttons stand out. |
| 2 | These should all line up evenly. |
| 3 | Logo shouldn't cover the navigation. |
| Positive Feature on http://outdoorposh.com | |
| 1 | She's hot. |

SearchWith a site that has this many product, I think a search would be appropriate.
| Critical Problem | |
ClutteredI feel that the site is too cluttered, I would try and make it more organized.
Hard on the eyes! Too many photographs and the ones of photos against a background of another photo is hard to look at. The "t" in the word "Outdoor" is weird - the word is difficult to read. The red truck looks more like a monster truck than a delivery vehicle. What is that cutoff image of a young lad on the right? Looks odd.
Don't mean to be so negative - I like the concept and the photo with the couple is excellent.
| Minor Problem on http://outdoorposh.com | |
| 1 | Need to float the padding between the navigation and the masthead |
| 2 | Need to stick with either rounded corners or square ones |
| 3 | Need to even up the padding |
| Minor Problem on http://www.outdoorposh.com | |
| 1 | latest release of web-standards asks that you not separate navigation with pipes | - It's common and not a problem, but can cause issues with the some search engines ability to index the nav |
| Minor Problem on http://www.outdoorposh.com/barrel-picnic-basket-for-2/ | |
| 1 | Center the arrow on the image to give a more balanced look |
| 2 | Need to balance this out, the padding between items is uneven |
| 3 | This button gets lost behind the grass, and the green on green isn't much of a call to action |
| Serious Problem on http://outdoorposh.com | |
| 1 | The Background, while beautiful and rich, is simply too much as is distracting from an otherwise very nice layout. It also pulls the eyes away from the products |
| 2 | Unreadabile - maybe white? |
| Positive Feature on http://outdoorposh.com | |
| 1 | Simple and elegant, I love it |
| Positive Feature on http://www.outdoorposh.com | |
| 1 | I think i prefer this full width style for the homepage |
| Positive Feature on http://www.outdoorposh.com/barrel-picnic-basket-for-2/ | |
| 1 | This masthead navigation looks better than the one the front page |
| Other on http://www.outdoorposh.com/barrel-picnic-basket-for-2/ | |
| 1 | You've got plenty of space here, maybe up the font size of the details |
Nice design just needs some polish
to busy background, tone the background down
