Really stunning work! After just finishing a very similar campaign, I think you out did me 10 fold!
I love it, great work!
I just wanted to leave you a quick note to let you know that this is BRILLIANT work - very well done!
I absolutely love the branding you used here. At first I thought it was a bit busy, but after reviewing the work as a whole and looking at the additional images you uploaded I have to say "kudos" to some really, really great work.
:) thank you so much for your review - sometimes it's nice and also helpful to know it's hitting the right spot. I'm in two minds at the moment about simplifying the typography and every bit of feedback is helpful in helping me decide whether to cut down on type treatments or not. Thanks again :)
I think you'll do just fine with the end product. Again, good luck!

| 1 | Bullet points? |
| 2 | Stick with the serif font? - Not sure... |
| 3 | Quite like this ... but wonder if you could do more ... could iit provide some sort of information ... i.e. could it show where people access the internet most? In other words tell them something they don't know then it will stick and you will get Word of Mouth marketing (:

| 1 | Can you make this a bit snappier as it is really the header when folded.... needs to give your main message.
|
| 2 | Very wordy |
| 3 | Precis these down as much as possible.

| 1 | Love this |
| 2 | I love the seeds idea |

| 1 | This pic is why I thought it was the headline... What is the first thing they will see? Make sure that summarizes your whole message! |
Have to say I love this too ... especially the way you have looked at how it folds so carefully.
Usually I would grumble about too many different fonts and the over use of ALLCAPS ... but that is kind of the retro style here. I guess just be careful it doesn't interfere too much with readability .
Only one slight criticism Perhaps ... just think a little more about what is your key message... are you sure you capture it succinctly so that people reading it immediately get it? It feels fairly text heavy.. Can you precis some of it down.
Please don't see these as criticisms because in the words of my kids this is "awesome" and I would read it if it came through my letter box.
Lisa
Thanks Lisa - We are cutting down the copy now. I am in two minds on the typography - I'm getting a lot of positive feedback from designers but even the few negatives make me wonder whether to simplify it slightly - at the end of the day, I want people to read it rather than win design awards :) - thanks for all your comments - all are appreciated
Added one more comment under New Idea on my review ... good luck with it. Hope you post the changes (:

| 1 | Love this area for the seeds |

| 1 | The question is great. This would grab my attention, without being too pushy. Exactly right to have the number as the biggest, boldest element. |

| 1 | Providing three steps is good - I'd read this, whereas the big long list in the blue box I doubt that many people would read. |

| 1 | The styling of this box leads the eye downwards. I'd reduce the number of items to the ones that will resonate with the most people, or are the key reasons people would use iPages, so that you can take advantage of the pointiness and make this blue box point to the call to action - the number and URL, which could then be full width |
Amazing concept, really well executed!! I'd definitely open it, and be impressed, although I doubt I'd read all of the text.
Love the typography, use of colour and styling.
Wow. Thank you for your review. We are cutting down the words in the blue box. We also showed it to a friend who is a copywriter in a large agency in London who said the same about the blue box and to cut it by about half. Thanks again

| 1 | possibly add some line height between these 2 lines. |
| 2 | I think this copy should stand out more.

| 1 | this flower treatment doesn't quite match the rest of the page. I get that you are wanting to convey the growth from the seeds, but maybe if the image was one that had a retro look and feel as well? just a thought.

Hi Emma -
I have no experience in print design, but wanted to offer my critique and throw in my 2 cents. I really like this concept and the idea of throwing in a pack of seeds is great! It is a little busy for me though. My eyes are drawn to the main top-right portion of the flyer which is good, but after that I'm not sure what to read next.
please see my notes....
Thank you Rebecca for your review.
It is quite a busy design - that is partly intentional because it's a style which is working really well in print and editorial over the last few years. More and more, I'm being asked to make things busy with a lot going on. The trick is to create a certain amount of order and elegance still out of a lot of different elements. Can be a tough call at times :)

Flower illustrationFlower illustration On image 2 and 3 is maybe just a touch too close to the type? very small detail as that is the only thing I can see out of place! | |
Absolutely beautiful design. From a typographic point of view it is simply stunning, the choice of typefaces contrast against each other very well. The colours are strong and the illustrations look great!
The add looks good and i like the idea of the seeds but unless you have a mailing list of businesses that you know aren't making the most of the internets potential I don't think this is the way to go.
Direct mail is known to give pur ROI
Thanks for the high design rating. But would be good to put in some other comments too. Lots of new users post up 5 empty reviews (so just star rating and no other comments) to put up their own work but it's frowned on as abuse of the site and you won't end up getting any decent feedback on your own work. Just a few lines would do on if you like colours, layout, type or whatever you think.
Wow. Praise indeed. You've made my day. Thanks Aaran
