Home PageIt need more finessing. It feels very squished despite your attempt to have four different sections.
Work PageWhen I click on a thumbnail on your work page and view the video I would like to be able to have a bread crumb bringing me back to the other thumbnails or the few thumbnails you have at the bottom should scroll, so that I can stay on the same page and flip through the videos. Need to make it easy to view all your work and also have it engaging to do so.
| Critical Problem | |
Videosi watched a few of the videos and as far as they go I found them very interesting, but my experience in how I view them, not so much.
| Positive Feature | |
Who we AreI really enjoy the silly rollovers on this page. It makes your group seems really quirky & fun. The problem is I don't see these qualities that define your company through the site. It also says the group is "brand driven" but the website doesn't match that!
When I look at the who were are page, the interpretation and explanations it gives about your company are not seen through the website. The site need to describe your group better stylistically than it does. It seems plain and boring, but when I watch your videos and look at the photos that is not the case. It's the opposite!
That being said there a lot of little things on this site that can be improved upon, hierarchy, where things line up, etc. But i think the most important thing to concentrate on is have the site truly represent River and it it be a seamless experience. I posted a few really good portfolio sites another review that you may want to take a peek at.

| 1 | Remove the border element on the tag cloud. You want all elements in the sidebar to look uniform ;) |

LayoutOverall, the layout is simple, clean, and easy to navigate.

TypographyRemove the serif and add an uplifting serif font (or two).

Hi Simon,
The website is coming along, but you're only partially there. Currently, the site is looking dated and unfinished/polished (more like a wireframe than a site). As a note: I wasn't able to access the site itself due to a database error...?
If you could change one thing, I would suggest changing your choice of typography. Georgia/Times are good if you have large blocks of text since they ease readability, but for items such as headers, navigation, and short blurbs, i would suggest going with a sans-serif typeface in order to elevate the design to a feeling of modernism. Don't be afraid to choose two coherent typefaces, either - the wonders of CSS3, online font factories, and the wealth of typefaces out there can really be as impactful as any other design element (and often moreso). Check out places like http://www.fontsquirrel.com, http://www.fontshop.com/fonts/, and http://www.dafont.com, among many others.
In terms of text itself, use a line-height of between 1.5 - 1.8 in order to break up large chunks of text.
As other folks have mentioned, the colour could also use a facelift. Blue is an excellent choice, but the current blue doesn't provide enough contrast against the white. Think readability.
The frontpage is looking a bit clunky - I would suggest breaking up the three chunks of text, similar to these layouts: Romix or Dandelion (if you would like to keep a serif).
Lastly, I would suggest adding a more robust footer or altering the "Get Involved." Contrast here let's the user know that it is a different section of the page with important information. Thus, make the section visually distinct from the main content of the page.
I hope this helps!
Cheers, Serina

| 1 | the text is too tight. this does not facilitate reading. You can try a line-height of 180%. |

| 1 | You use the same font throughout the site. You can store the font for titles and use a font like Verdana and Tahoma for the content. |
Hello,
This redesign is interesting. The choice of a simple design on a white background looks good. The predominant color blue goes well with the theme. Here are some suggestions for improvement about design. In general, as you use the same font in all the website, just you can try with other font in

Hi Simon, very nice start, i hope this is helpful and good luck with your design.
| Minor Problem | |
| My first issue with the site is the very light blue color that is used for all links and titles. On my screen some of the smaller text is not visible. Revise the color pallet. | |
| New Idea | |
TitlesYou have allot of info on you site, navigate the eye more with bigger titles.
Nice layout! The homepage could use a little more color or be more "eye-catching" to have things pop out. You also could be a little more consistent with the direction of your images on your pages, ex: "work" and "who we are" pages align vertically and others go horizontally. I dig the "who are are" page!
