| 1 | Try to show your work in a tidy place but not in the middle of a messy "party". Make it outstanding! |
The Banner is too messy.
You got it Malcom! Best of luck with never ending tweaks on a website :) Let me know if I can help again.

Stay true to the design style.I think you should look for a new color palette. Also, I think the gradient is taking away from the 50's-60's design style your trying to achieve so that could be taken out. I think if you look more into the 50's-60's design style you should be good.
I think you have s good start my concern would be the pages beyond the home page. A good post on retro design is Retro. Good luck and I can't wait to see the final layout.
Honestly, I enjoy the design you have already and I'd build upon that rather than start from scratch. A redesign doesn't have to be a complete visual change. I think you can change page layouts, typography, content, color schemes and minor things that can be as effective or more effective and less time consuming than a complete redesign. But this is just my opinion.
Thanks so much for the feedback and tip about that article. I took a step back from it for a bit and I think that is helping!
Hi, just a quick advice - dont waist time working on graphic elements when creating mockup :) First think about strategy and usability and place it on mockup , than work on design. Use this http://balsamiq.com/download - free to try as far as i remember. Very easy app. As for draft - more whitespace in middle part, maybe center main menu. Clean for now in general. Footer is best on 2 In middle part, i would put pictures from porfolio there. Less text, more photos :)
Agreed. Thanks for your comments. I've been meaning to try Balsamiq.
As a website it's pretty good, apart from the very distracting background. As a web design companies web site it's terrible.
Moving on from the background issues, the site just doesn't look professional. A company looking for someone to design their new website wouldn't think you could design something professional looking enough for them.
The typeface is too childlike, and the party image doesn't scream "I do grown up stuff".
Your current design is much better for selling a web design business. Abandon the total redesign and instead tweak th existing one by incorporating the content areas and footer from the concept.
Points taken. The elements will be worked in, but it may not be a total redesign. Trying to still get the artwork/party scene in, but not too worried about the "grown up" portion at this moment. It's still good feedback and i'll be keeping that in mind as I move forward with elements on the site.

BackgroundThe background is distracting and hard on the eyes. Remove the pattern or try a much lighter color scheme in the background, it will make your content the main focus
| Critical Problem | |
Logo TextThe current style - it just looks modern and I would not change it to the alternating colors. I think the current logo represents a higher end product, while the multi color is dangerous, and unless your google just play it straight here.
| Positive Feature | |
Content areasI think adding the content areas can give a better overview of your services, as the current site does not have these.
TypographyI am not an expert on typography, but I don't think the type here adds to the message - it detracts. Typography should highligh and make it easier to read the content. Here, I think it does neither and so there isn't a benefit to going with the unbalanced style.

While I understand this is not finished, I have to say that the current design is far superior. I like the current logo much better - it's more professional and as mentioned, the background detracts from the focus - your business/work that you've done. The current site appears to have the same background - just muted - and I think it works very well.
Where this has an edge is the content areas. Honestly, I would look to add content / project examples to the main page of the current site and skip the major redesign.
Thanks, I appreciate your comments!
And thanks for so much constructive feedback. I appreciate the time you took in forming your notes.
Thank you for your feedback.
