Is this a poster, a yearbook, stationary, a web site, a pamphlet? You mentioned it's for your friend who is trying to get published? If you could give more details that would help. Specifically a web link where someone could go and read the information and copy.
From what I can tell... this looks artsy... but I wonder why everything is in black & white. If I knew the purpose of the project I could give you a better opinion.
the heading 'My NCEA website please give feedback' subheading is 'Concept Images' part of ncea is that i cant make the website until i have done concept sketches then gotten feedback. I am not allowed to put it on the internet until i have gotten feedback. It is a black and white website, with grey scale pictures. thankyou for your feedback.
It seems there isn't too much text and it's readable on the other pages. Very good opposed to long winded approach.
New Idea
Add the value to the homepage
Show work your friend has done or a quick summary of her experiences to the homepage - which can lead to the full bio. Don't want the user to have to click to see an example of her work or read a quick sentence summary. Give the site visitor a reason to explore the other pages.
It took me awhile to notice that the top left picture had "Home" circled on it. I see where you're going. I wonder what type of fashion is involved? If it's more natural colors or is your friend more NY style where black colors would be more fitting? Without that context unsure about floral pattern.
Beyond that, add value to the homepage - quick summary and/or small sample of her work with a link to main/sub archives.
