Critical Problem on mombl2.jpg 1 your grass is getting cropped, you need a wider canvas. New Idea on mombl2.jpg 1 Obviously this is the featured area. Plan on have all of the content in this area benefit the main slider theme. Other on mombl2.jpg 1 I would suggest that you remove this area. its starting to feel a bit crammed. 2 I assume that you're going to have about 5 or 8 listings here -
Minor Problem on mombl2.jpg 1 This design has a lot of content. Some of the lesser important has been given too much visual weight. For example, this box (which states the number of users online) draws too much attention (due to the use of the stitching effect box) even though it is not an important piece of information. A similar problem applies to the "Share with Us" and featured Blogger sections. I would tone these down so the users eyes can focus on the main content. 2 Duplicate Content. This section (Start Your Blog) essentially duplicates the information in the green box. As your design has a lot of content, consider combining with the green box and using the saved space to make the design less busy. 3 I think log-in sections should always be at the top, as that is where people are used to seeing them. I would just have a link ("User Log-in/Register") that takes the user to log-in form (Perhaps you can use a jquery lightbox so the user doesn't leave the page). Serious Problem on mombl2.jpg 1 Is this in the right place? It seems it would be more interesting to users than "share with us" or "users online". I think it should be higher up. New Idea on mombl2.jpg 1 Make the Site function more obvious. Mombl is unique as it as it lets users to earn money from starting their own blog. Yet this unique selling is buried all the way down in the green box. I would re-write the tag line so the Unique Selling Point is obvious from the start. 2 Font is too blocky. The navigation has a lot of content, and the blocky capital font adds to the problem making it look too busy. 3 I don't get the grass/mummy connection. It looks great, but I'm not sure how it fits in. Summary:
This design has a lot of content yet has done a remarkable job of keeping it all organised.
I know in my notes I have pointed out lots of minor problems, but on the whole I like the design. I think you have made a good start.
The design just need tightening up. However, try considering what is the most important information for your users, as some of the lesser information seems to have been over-emphasised.
Also while the design is visually appealing, I'm not sure how some of thing design elements fit in with the theme (such as the grass and the sun burst). Try experimenting with different elements, as they may help you create a stronger brand image.

It's certainly got legs, but there a few things that really grate me when I look at it. I think it's predominantly typography and the color palette, there are so many conflicting colors, that it makes me feel a bit seedy.

Minor Problem on mombl2.jpg 1 What is the difference between subscribe and rss and what is their relation to giveaways? This whole three-part navigation seems out of place here. Change subscribe/rss to an icon and find another place for the giveaways. 2 I like the colours, the fonts and the general layout of the main navigation, but I would loose the grass. If you need a graphic element to break the lines, use something more in the background (faded) and more generic (e.g. duplicate the swirls in the footer that way you get a more consistent look top/bottom) Serious Problem on mombl2.jpg 1 What does this date refer to? Today? Why? All articles are dated so why date the site. It just takes up space. Critical Problem Cramped

This site has no color scheme. Green, purple, dark brown, beige and sky blue do not make a color scheme. The web 2.0 trend is for clear and simple - you need a small minimal color set and they need to work well together. This green and purple do not work well together and do not work with the beige background. I would introduce some white. Drop either the green or the purple and focus on simple. You should use a single highlight color to signify selectable elements.Critical Problem Too busy

I am with aaron on this one ... not sure the grass links particularly well with a mommyblogging network. Get rid of it and focus on a good clear color scheme.
A trick I use to simplify sites is to get rid of all caps in the menus and headers - they are easier to read in lower case and somehow simplify the site.
I think your calls to action are lost on this page. They need to be bigger and given more focus - maybe right up there on the photos...
