Flash CompatibilityI would worry that users without flash will not be able to access this part of the site. Since I'm sure that a non-Flash version of the Custom Design Tool is not an option, I would make sure and have some sort of alternate content on that page or even better would be to have an alternate non-Flash site that simply removes any mentioning of the Custom Tool. You don't want users who don't have Flash to be bitter about not being able to access such an important feature
| Serious Problem | |
Home Page LayoutI feel that the home page is a little busy/cluttered. Since you have such a vibrant, full featured item, the rest of the site just feels a little claustrophobic. I think you need more space around each menu item and more space between the top, smaller menu and the main menu. Also I think the balance is off a bit when it comes to color and interest. You eyes is immediately pulled to the feature, but when it gets there the text in the upper-right corner is kind of hard to read, and the boxes in the lower-right corner get lost in the background colors. The feature is so busy and bright, the rest of the page seems very bland, with the muted colors and lots of text.
| Positive Feature | |
Custom Design ToolI love this idea. I think you executed it well. I like speed in which the flash loads, and the interface is very simple.
I think you are on the right track but the whole site needs a little more polish. Right now it feels very much like a templated site. If you are selling something as creative and high-end as custom jewelry, you need to make sure the site feels creative and high-end

Beautiful banner imageI love the image. Although I did not notice the text in it. I would not put the Design, Share & Buy in there Or the free shipping. It takes focus away from the buttons. You want people to either Design or Shop so make that all there is to do in the banner

| 1 | This seems mis-aligned. See if you can align it with Design. Might look a bit more neat. |

| 1 | For me this comes over as a bit messy and empty. Theres to much space between the menu and the content.
What you could do is (I guess this is the start of the flash interface that loads in the website) is centralise the content.
Put Step 1 on the top and than those 3 images below it. Making it more clear that you have to chose out of 3 paths. |

| 1 | I'd try to keep it at the 3 posts you have now. Adding the arrows gives people something else to do than click on Design or Shop. Plus, its content that is hidden.
For me, the advantage of adding that in the footer is you have 3 spots to tell something about yourself straight away. so if I have to click to access the rest that (to me) is counter intuitive. |

| 1 | I wouldnt put this on the homepage yet as there is nothing to see prices for. Its just another element that has no function yet. |
| Other on screen capture424.jpg | |
| 1 | Call us: It seems this is a button. But since its a website, nothing will happen when I press said button. I'd just put contact details somewhere (preferably in the footer). That saves another click and removes a distracting element. |
I like the general feel of the design very much! Its a good idea and nice executed. It can be fine tuned somewhat tho.
Keep in mind that the sole reason for people on the website is to shop or design. So take away as much elements as needed to force people to shop or design ^_^
I dont really agree with the template look being a bad thing. With so many websites on the web its pretty much impossible to come up with something unique. And to add to that: You can design jewelry on this website. So its best to keep people in a fairly standard and well known interface. Makes it easier for them :)
Thanks so much for your valuable input and detailed feedback.

| 1 | The way this is presented, it looks like a navigational menu. I would actually put your navigational items here (Design Your Own, Earrings, Bracelets, Necklaces, Latest Trends). The darker background helps it stand out more. |
| 2 | On these landing pages, I expected to see a link somewhere that allowed me to design my own. |
| 3 | The text is a little hard to read. I would make this stand out a bit more. |
| 4 | The words are almost too close, making it hard to distinguish one item from another. I would add some more space between each item. |
| 5 | Here you call it Shopping Bag. But in the header, you have an image of a cart and refer to it as "Cart". I would be consistent in the term you use. |
| Critical Problem on http://www.delusha.com | |
| 1 | Are you trying to indicate languages or counties? You should remove the flags and instead have a global icon (image of a globe) where users can then choose their language. Including a country flag can sometimes be offensive and/or not intuitive to all. Also, I'm sure you would like to add more languages to your site as your business grows.

I love this site! What a wonderful idea! I actually fit within your target market, and I can say that I enjoyed creating my own necklace :)
Design Your Own Tool
I do worry that the tool is made out of Flash, but the experience of creating my own jewelry was very fun and easy. A couple of suggestions:
Creating a Global Site
You are targeting a global audience, so I would make sure that your site is easy-to-use globally. Be careful on how you represent languages. Remember, that countries and languages aren't the same thing.
As an idea, it would be cool to see the global trends in jewelery OR map out where the latest designs are coming from.
Home Page
Even though I'm personally very fond of your concept, it took me a while to understand it. My first impression of your site was that it was another jewelery site/online store. I didn't realize that I could design my own OR create my own shop. That message needs to come across immediately. A part of me wonders if the formality of the home page makes it look like an online store as opposed to a place where I can create. You may want to reconsider the imagery, text or even layout.
This is just some initial feedback, but I hope it's helpful. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Nirali, Thank you so much for your very detailed and thorough feedback. We will definitely be keeping your suggestions in mind as we progress. Best regards
As someone who likes clean simple lines with a little boldness thrown in, I think this website is very attractive in that respect.
There are only two things I would consider working on.
1) The logo. Looks okay but it seems so detached from each other, the star and the work Delusha. It needs a little oomph if you know what I mean.
2) The 'Design' and 'Shop' buttons are really big compared to everything else on the website. They kind of stick out like a sore thumb. I'm sure you probably made it that big because you want it to stand out b/c they are important features, but I think you can play around with it and use other ways for it to stand out. They seem out of place.
| Minor Problem | |
choose a sizein all previous selections I could click the image, but for choose a size only the text is clickable. I would suggest making the image above the text clickable as well
| Serious Problem | |
people are forced to name their creationwhen a design is completed and I click add to cart I have to name the design. It's not clear what the name is used for and I can't skip it and just go the the cart. I would suggest making clear what the name is for and making it possible to skip naming your creation
when i click out of the flash application going to another page the design will be lostWhen clicking out I'm warned that the design will be lost. The application already seems to support saving a design. Offer that as an option in the popup with the warning. Also add a description on how the user can retrieve the saved design later on.
| Critical Problem | |
the designer does not work without flash.for the about 1% of browsers without flash you could create a pure html version of the designer. it would not look as slick but it would be possible for users to place an order. You would have to decide if a 1% increase in orders would justify the investment in the development and maintenance of a html version of the designer. Also the message shown to users without flash is a little short. A link to a page explaining why and how to install flash next to the download link would help those users not knowing what flash is.
| New Idea | |
use the shop for existing designs to draw people to the design sectionYou can use the shop not only to sell existing designs, but also to inspire people to create their own design. Use the text 'be inspired by these designs' or something similar. You already have a link 'design your own' from the product page, but i then have to start from scratch. Could it be possible to alter the chosen design and start from there?
when designing earrings let me copy the one earring to the nextthis prevents people from having to design the same earring twice
This is a great idea, my wife loves it. I've added e few notes with some things i think would improve the site.
| Minor Problem | |
| Top bar with services and features need to be in the content area, or even as a list | |
Products categories page is too simple
| |
| New Idea | |
| You can put navigation instead of the service link, because that part of page attract more | |
| change white font color from heder with something else | |
