I like it a lot, and did something similar, for other places.
My only critique would be that the drips are too uniform, so just remove them.
I have attached my one!
Your thoughts were exactly mine about the drips. I really love what you've done though with the red cross. It feels much more positive and healing. The broken image feels too raw. Japan and the people of Japan are truly in our prayers.
I really like yours Aaran! I wish I could vote up attachments.
Thanks Jamal, I appreciate it...
Jamal, it's really a great concept on the disaster of tsunami that have swallowed the peace of Japan... let's pray for Japan.
Hi Jamal,
I think the concept is awesome, simple and very easy to understand.
Aaran's was a good cool, the teardrops weren't adding anything but I'd like to see how this great idea would look with just one big red teardrop. Perhaps we're gonna loose a bit of Japan's flag but it will make the concept stronger regarding joining their pain.
Just some thoughts from my side, but like I said, it's a great idea.
Eze
Thanks Ezequiel! I really like the tear drop idea, I'm going to definitly give it a try.
Indeed, the disaster that hit Japan should be recognized and realized... however, at first glance, I see the broken red circle, bold as it should appear... but as I pan out, I see two earrings along its sides rather than blood/tears. Too reminiscent of a character wearing earrings. Perhaps you should remove them or maybe create a difference between their symetry.
Thanks for the review. I'm gonna end up moving them, and try a different avenue with the design too. Just for fun ^_^.
Thanks again.

| 1 | maybe add one white tear drop coming from the crack. The two tear drops seem they are waiting to be placed somewhere . |
| Positive Feature on Japan_Flag_Tears.png | |
| 1 | I thought Japan right away, before even reading what this was about. Great idea. |
| Other on Japan_Flag_Tears.png | |
| 1 | I would remove these drops. It pulls away from the Japan symbol. such as you did in the second version. |
| 2 | I like the texture on this dot. Just as long as that is what is on the flag. I think staying close as possible to a smooth red dot will help the relation to the original symbol. http://www.mapsofworld.com/flags/japan-flag.html |
| 3 | If you keep the tear drops here try and keep the same red color and texture as used in the circle ( it tends to feel unrelated to each other when it's different.) |
| Minor Problem | |
maybe go in a bit of a different direction...why not try making the circle into a tear shape? or creating the cracks in the shape of a tear? the concept is nice i just fear it may be a bit unoriginal...
The minute I saw this I thought of the picture that was on the cover or Bloomberg Businessweek about the crisis in Japan...
Not sure where or how this would be used but it doesn't say Japan to me. The drops seem to be blood. They also look a bit like little earrings on a cracked head. I would do a crack or tears but not both, and there needs to be something else to attach this to the idea of Japan.
This is a lovely piece of design, and sums up the disaster well. Well done!
| Minor Problem | |
DropsThe two drops side by side doesn't seem to work for me. looks like a pair of ear rings though. lol. I can see that u're trying to introduce an element of water... but it's more than a couple of droplets that's hit Japan and caused the 'crack', that's for sure... maybe trying going for a body of water with reflection of the red setting sun against it... a darkened, disturbed body of water. I'd be cool to be a print on a shirt if you get the design right, imo.
| New Idea | |
Bring in the element of the sea/water, which is (part) cause of the destructionHere's an idea. While the sea may have devoured part of Japan... there's also a positive side to remind others in that, there's a Tide of Hope which sweeps across Japan after the aftermath with a Sea of Help coming in from every other direction
Tide of Destruction leads to Sea of Help
ok guys, i'm not sure if there is a bug with this thing, but lo and behold, that was my first feedback post, and i've got a critical feedback for ConceptFeedback... lol... for some reason, the icons on the side doesn't appear right... i choose New Idea and Minor Problem... but the icons next to it appears something else. Could it be my browser? I'm on Google Chrome. Somebody pls get someone from CF to fix this bug (if it is indeed a buy. Lol).
Shariff
what kind of review is this??? are you just trying to get your 5 reviews in so you can post a concept? Keep in mind that you get what you give.
oh what fun we shall have!
Can someone help me. I am new to this site and not really sure what I am to do. I got a message about my review and Rebecca seems really angry. I didn't even know I reviewed anything. I am not sure how this works. This is my first time to this site and I don't want to make anyone angry. Maybe someone can please point me in the right direction or how I can participate correctly here. Sorry to make you angry Rebecca.
Hahahahaha. I am putting my head in my hands already. :)
Don't worry. If you see a review you want to say something about. Just click review concept. Then write what you think about the design in the text fields and then hit submit review. Try to write more than a few words or lines and everyone will be happy.
Thank you Emma, I am just starting to understand this site and how it works. So I guess Rebecca is angry at me, because I didn't provide enough feedback. I will be sure to give full feedback in the future, thanks Emma.
XD. Louis no bigi. Just remember to give a proper amount of feedback on others work. You can actually take a lot at all the people that have commented here reviews' to get great examples.
Aaran too funny, lol.
Thanks Jamal, learning here.
@ Louis, no anger... maybe I just didn't realize how difficult it is for some to grasp how this site works.
here is a link that I sent to another member just the other day, hope you find it to be helpful.

Wow Rebecca that is a good link, thanks!
Great link Rebecca. Reminds me of my first job. I'd often have to go back to the drawing board with my designs to either start over or tweak and amend up to ten or twelve times. Even getting a design through with only one set of amends was a real achievement. It really taught me to be massively critical of my own work and get it to a really high standard but also not to take the criticism personally.
the idea is great and so simple. the blood stains don't work for me - but the crack does. i also wouldn't really recognize it was the flag of japan unless maybe there was some texture of wave patterns that I could easily tell this was a flag.
That might help!
Hi Kayvanm,
I'm not neccesarily trying to get people to understand that it is a flag. It is just a manipulation of the Japanese flag. Don't take the flag title so litteral.
Thanks again,
Jamal
Your comments seem to contradict each other. "Great and simple" doesn't jive with "don't work" and "wouldn't recognize." If it has to be explained (and it does) it's not a great concept. The idea of Japan crying (or us crying for Japan) is solid but this doesn't convey that without explanation.
Are you really going to do this after what happened to Louis' review?? Seriously, o.O
Hello Jamal. What are you talking about? Now that I look none of my comments seem to have appeared. Can you read what I wrote? I'm new to this. I wrote in the top box, not the bottom box. Should this have been the other way around? I find this site confusing.
Thanks Mark
Mark, you write your thoughts in the field labeled Summary and the top box is for annotations. Just put your comments on my design down here until you get the hang of it. Starting with your comments on my design of course.

In brief my comments were:
prefer version without droplet/tears as this is closer to the Japanese flag. Could the tear go to the middle/heart of the circle?
I think people will remember the tsunami more than the earthquake. (it was the tsunami that killed more people). Could there be a graphic device to suggest the wave, rather than the rip suggesting the earthquake?
Hope this helps. Best wishes
Hi Jamal
Had a great idea. Why not use the shape of Japan as the tear/rip? If you look at Google Maps and Japan, you'll see that the shape of Japan is similar to your rip - so why not make it the same...
Jamal & Aaran- both great concepts!
Japan is in our prayers.
