You use too many fonts on your design. You get the feel that there's some lack of consistency.No hover action

Why not suggest current topics. You can research hot topics and just motivate your viewers to write about it. First of all I Love the concept! I went to the live site and got stuck there for 30mins reading! soo compelling..fantastic.
The old theme was sooo dark. I am glad you are switching but I have to say that the new design is somehow corporate and cold.
With the new design You have done a remarkable job on usability! It is MUCH MUCH more easy to get to where you want, all option laid out on top. I wonder if you need a search?
From the old design I really liked the "Why" on the banner Also what happened to "postal secrets?"
I have made some comments on the site but the take-away from my review should be Great job ...change the color scheme
Would be nice to have a "letter theme" The examples below are just to explain what I mean..they are hideous..I did not make them! ha ha ha

I just remembered I made something I am no longer going to use. it's the third one down. Again this is just to give you an Idea of what I mean.

Summary:
The design definitely has promise, like the tabs, top navigation is ok nice ad spot. Two areas I would work on is the footer which needs finishing, not sure what the gap is?
And the background looks a little depressing and is not a good repeating backgorund.
