Minor Problem on Arte-HOME-purpletoneddown-113010.jpg 1 is it possible to increase the "mouseover" area for the left and right arrows? it is tought when small icons force the user to click exactly the same spot to proceed. 2 I havent seen these double purple arrows anywhere else maybe put an icon in front of the resources instead? Minor Problem on Arte-HOME-purpletoneddown-113010.jpg 1 agree with simon, this needs room 2 this might look cool with a small arrow and a slight border as if it was a magnification of the piece in the header 3 I know I'm on the homepage, but how would I know looking here? 4 these need a border 5 very squished - typography 6 where's the social aspect surely this is the type of site that needs visitors and people to share it? -

Beautiful concept! I think I might use a similar background on my next design. At this point, it looks like you are ready for some small tweaks and clean up.
Bigest issue I can see are tiny alignment issues all through out the site. And most of the elements on the product page feel like an afterthought.
If you make any changes, post the new comps here. I'd love to see them!

Summary:
Love the logo and overall look of the website. Couldn't see a live preview so going on concept image/screenshot here. Background image goes well with website. Purple and black works well. Menu could be bolder but stands out enough at the top as it goes full width across design. Good Job :)

You are missing a star (I'd say half star) in usability because you are a bit confused about prioritizing some of the tiniest details.

The tone, look and feel is very good. Why? The site focuses on a single period of art, specialized, targeted. The functionality is easy to use and pleasing. I really don't know which page I'm on MYSELF!) Critical Problem on Arte-HOME-purpletoneddown-113010.jpg 1 You don't really have a call to action button (CTA) here. I only see five CTA's, but those are much and less relevant to your design. So, what I suggest you do is make those other buttons less darker, and make this button the lightest. It seems like this would be the most appropriate content to read on this site, besides the consistent pages (in the navigation). -

I love your design! It's very elegant, and the purple shades and hues are in very good use. One thing only, be careful not to use Trajan Pro too much... it will get your logo confused with the content. It's good to use a similar font, but not the same. Overall, very good design.
Summary:
Very well polished site! I love the purple gradient and the background. The only distraction i find is the headings having the same treatment as the headers, but I cannot say why it doesn't fit because it does! If i had to make a criticism I would say the headers feel very repetitive in the headings only because the headings are so close to each other...
I think you have excellent imagery and a very great looking site. Perfect color choice (purple standing for royalty) so you went the right direction. Good job!
Summary:
It is very good work. You wanted to make it feel luxury and you managed to do that. Dark-purple + dark-grey gamma, use of baroque pattern, good quality photos, golden crown–all this is creates this very feeling of luxury and solidity of the enterprise. All is proportional, balanced, clear and professional. From the point of view of usability–it is very clear what the website is about, how to navigate and what to do here. I think, even not super-savvy Internet users can easily understand what and how on this website. The only thing I would change is placing dashes instead of hyphens in text 9where necessary, of course) and would increase a bit font-size of the text (descriptions, posts etc, not headings–they are readable enough). White text on dark background is always less readable, so may be increasing a bit font-size will make reading more comfortable. Good, really very good!
