You created this design without idea. You should add some effects, beacuse minimalism is really hard technique of web designs. Design look really empty. I think that you start from the scratch. When you design:
Good luck!

| 1 | From the home page, where do you go? You need at least a navigation bar to direct your users to the information they are looking for. |
| 2 | You need to organize the information |
| 3 | The background is not very uplifting. |

| 1 | Consider a search feature to help them locate what they need. If a search button is not an option, add a Site Map button and even a Quick Links dropdown menu for the most common visited pages. |
You don’t have much content and content is what dictates design.
If you want users to find the information, you need to have a solid structure on your site.
You may separate the info that students, parents and even faculty/staff may need (different tabs).
You need brighter colors to attract your audience. Adding pictures of students would also help increase traffic on your site. Students may go to the site just to check pictures of their friends.
I recommend that you do some information mapping on the old site. Show it to your client and ask what they want to keep/add. Then organize the information, work on the taxonomy and the structure of the new site. Create a prototype and have a few users test it to find out any potential problems.
Also, look at what other schools have done on their sites. I’m attaching a wireframe to illustrate one possible way of presenting the information on the home page. I hope it helps!
What is this concept for? It would be great if you can specify the use of this concept? From an initial look at this, it looks suited for a single page news site listing important school activities.
I like minimalism, but this may be too simple (depending on what this is for though). Some font color may be good for this concept.
Post some more details about this concept, and maybe the other pages for the concept site as well so that people can help more.

This is not design. It looks bad. It is only black, without idea and any potential. I'm sorry but this is no good. I do not have anything to say because they have nothing to evaluate.
Can you post a link to a minimalist design that you find well thought out? I think that would give me a heads start.
