| 1 | If you want to obtain freelance work, your name shouldn’t be hidden! |
A lot of graphic/web design portfolios have a black background. You may want to be different to grab your potential customers’ attention.
Here is a link to portfolio sites that may inspire you: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/07/30/50-fresh-portfolio-websites-for-your-inspiration/
Please see the wireframe I created. That may help you organize the different elements that you’ll put on your site. Note that I added a Services button to your nav bar.
wow that's great! thank you very much! That's extremely helpful! any other comments as far as the yellow green color or tag line design? Most say its unreadable.
Yes, I agree, it doesn’t work very well (tag line design). What I read first are the green words and it’s a bit incoherent. Then I try to read the whole thing and you make my eyes jump up & down which is something you want to avoid as well as using upper case for an entire block of text.
If you want to get your message across, make it easy for the user to understand it. Be concise and engage the user to take action. Ask yourself what do I offer and what do I want the user to do.
That's a great point, thank you so much for your comments they are extremely helpful!

| 1 | I thought it was 3DMax? is this a new version? |
| Minor Problem on Portfolio_Page.jpg | |
| 1 | because you have so many different pieces in your portfolio you need an internal navigation structure, that enables people to navigate their way through your portolio |
| Serious Problem on Home_Page.jpg | |
| 1 | this is dull - this says "oh look at me, I am a boring man" - it needs to be "damn look how cool I am, you want me, YOU NEED me!" |
| 2 | ughh, where's the active state? |
| 3 | I am truly confused and why this font? I want to strangle the maker of this font! |
| 4 | centered text - this died out when the dinosaurs did |
| Serious Problem on About_Page.jpg | |
| 1 | Really? I mean seriously why would I "shoot you an email" if I can use the above form, also the layout of your email address, if you don't want bots spamming it make it an image, don't use this format it looks unprofessional |
Justin
I gotta say, to me it's obvious you're not a web designer, you seem to be a competent 3D illustrator.
You could have some real fun with this type of content and design, however you are heading down the road of a serious web firm, which is not you at all.
The colors are drab, the boxes are all slab like.
The Typography is appalling, and I mean it... it really is bad...
The logo, if you can call it this is NOT interesting or even remotely exciting, which it could be if you let your imagination go wild.
Be imaginative, have fun with this design, I suggest you do a wire frame first then get onto the design, if you need help with design, have a look at www.foliofocus.com
Good Luck!
Thank you for being completely harsh with your critique, its something i look for in my 3d art, so I appreciate it. I have a ton of work to do obviously, and will get on fixing my site. I tried to bring my creativity to some places on my site including my tag line. is the font the only thing that bothers you about it? or is it just not readable. Its 3d studio max so 3ds Max to my understanding, just looked it up. again i really appreciate it! thanks!

| 1 | Try it without this graphic |
| 2 | Try it without this graphic |
| 3 | wasted space on the sides, try if putting the items into 2 columns instead (form on the right, then contact info and social stuff on the left) |
| Critical Problem on Home_Page.jpg | |
| 1 | More spacing! Smaller width (maybe just half of the current size), then vertically align with the navigation links |
| 2 | Unreadable |
| 3 | Shadow is too strong |
| 4 | More space above and below this HR |
| 5 | More spacing |
| 6 | Smaller font size |
| 7 | lighter shade border |
| Critical Problem on Portfolio_Page.jpg | |
| 1 | shadows are too strong |
| 2 | Add more spacing between images. Maybe even just list 3 images instead of 4, then increase their height |
| Critical Problem on About_Page.jpg | |
| 1 | increase line-height |
| 2 | increase spacing between items |
Thank you for the feed back all of your comments are very helpful.

| 1 | The gradient here is too strong. Try this:
1. Set the font color.
2. In the layers style select gradient overlay
3. Set the blending mode to overlay
4. Play with the opacity |
| 2 | Way to tight. Add room to breathe. |
| Minor Problem on Portfolio_Page.jpg | |
| 1 | Shadows feel too strong here |
| 2 | Try another layout style here. Feels like alot of wasted space on this page |
| 3 | Try giving these images a border to make them stand out a bit more. They seem to be blending into the background a bit here. |
| Minor Problem on About_Page.jpg | |
| 1 | Add more breathing room here. Feels a little tight. |
| 2 | Alot of tension here. Add some more breathing room. |
| Serious Problem on Home_Page.jpg | |
| 1 | Align text "left" here. Headers and content.

| 1 | Just a thought: try and align the bottom of all text to the same level. |
| 2 | This feels out of place, try adding another column for these |
Gettin there man.
Remember to keep the grid in mind when you are designing any kind of lay out.
Also, I've uploaded a few ideas for the gallery page.
If you can, upload more images if you tinker with the design.

I will play around with the ideas you have laid out. I have a ton of work to do still. I like what you have done with my portfolio page, looks great. What do you think of the font?

This is confusing, and I wouldn't want to stay on this site long. It makes me feel confused.
That's a great point I don't know what i was thinking with this gradient, its was too dark.
