| 1 | This section should stand out and incite users to start the process and try this service now. This section should go above ‘The PixelTalents Promise’ section. The blue type is misleading because it’s the same color as the links in the above section. |
| 2 | The small type is difficult to read. Learn tab: not sure it’s the most appropriate word, not strong enough to incite users to take action. |
| 3 | The FAQs, Contact Us, About Us information is buried under the Learn and Homepage. They deserve their own page/button on the Nav Bar. |
| 4 | It’s not clear that the site is for customers and creatives. Log in / register: not clear that it’s for creatives that want to create offers. |
| Critical Problem on browse.png | |
| 1 | Color for ‘See Details’ buttons for ‘Browse by Style, Topic, Gift’ pages is light gray and users may think the buttons are inactive. Consider changing the color. |

Hi, this is a great/fun service and a colorful site but you need a call to action to increase conversion and there are some design inconsistencies that need to be fixed.
Contact Us / Footer: The form is at the bottom of the page, below the fold. It should be placed under the Contact section.
There is another typo on the Typography Portrait page ‘More examples of this style’.
Warhol Pop Art page (and all similar pages): ‘What’s next after my request’ is a link, the color should be blue.
Fees: content is not clear enough for the creatives section (difference between service fee and payment fee). The content for the Customers section is misleading, it gives the impression that they can get the service for free.
Check the spelling throughout the site. Be consistent: links color, button shapes
Is there a way for the customers to check the status of their orders?
The English version looks good to me but you may ask that question to another reviewer since I'm French!

Feels like a professional serviceOverall, a potential customer will feel this is a full service offering. It looks the part, is singular and clear in what the site offers and balances a clean, modern look and feel with enough information to make a purchasing decision
Strategic use of spaceThe browse by style / topic / gift navigation is a little tight. It is crowding out the better layout and calls action underneath in the main content area. The 3 navigation items aren't being future-proofed. Having vertical elements in this tight space means if you want to expand the 'browse by' elements to include i.e. best sellers, fan art or offers, you would have to redesign this. A better option would be to put these elements into a horizontal sub-naviagation bar, underneath the main Buy/Print/Learn navigation. This would also make the design more cohesive.
| Serious Problem | |
Lack of reason to come backConsider adding in newsletter, updates and a reason to connect with your customers. Using simple techniques like competitions to win a canvas, getting customers to compete for most amount of friends they can get to 'like' pixelTalent means you can grow your database. If you are not actively conversing with your customers about new offers, new products and exciting them about your offering it will be harder to make the site commercially successful. Give people a reason to give you their email address (not just a sign up here, with no supporting reason) and be sure to follow DMA rules on opt-in / out and data protection.

Wording is confusing to a new customerThe offer to 'contact a designer' doesn't have any call to action and isn't communicated clearly enough. The service is great, but as a customer I'm a little confused as to who these designers are. Perhaps featuring some of them, showing real world canvases and possibly customer testimonials on this page would help re-enforce trust in the service.

Layout of imagesThe layout and styling of the pop art images and the colourful nature have real impact. I would look through these immediately and easily as a customer and find something interesting. One note, I would consider adding pagination at the top of this section as we as the bottom. As a customer I don't know how many images you may be presenting me with, and don't want to have to scroll to the bottom of the page to find out.
| New Idea | |
Simplify the key sales messageCurrently the main 'pop art canvas' box works well. However, it doesn't explain the different types of ordering and the step by step process. The two boxes in the grey sub bar 'order your photo' and 'that's easy' boxes can be easily and simply conveyed within the main 'pop art canvas' blue box area. I would remove them from the right hand side completely. This frees up the right hand area for both 'trust' elements such as payment/security/money back guarantees as well as cross promotional activity. The following message schema for the main box would work well. 1. Choose a style, choose a designer 2. Upload your photo 3. choose which format you want your great pop art piece 4. Relax and enjoy your completely original piece 1,2,3 combining the elements from this box and the 'order your photo' grey box in the sub bar would help glue the offer together.
Congratulations on the work done so far. Here is some feedback on the overall strategy and commercial site viability.
To take a step back, the name 'Pixel Talents' does have connotations with creating artwork or working within the design field. This is fine for those comfortable with that side, but may put off a customer just looking for some cool art for their walls that others have produced. The site proposition could be clearer - can you buy existing artworks that others have posted or just your own. Bear in mind that new potential customers will arrive on your site and bounce pretty quickly if they can't work out what your offer is.

The main selling image is good, but might do with the 'before' photo being slightly larger.
Hello Roy,
this is a really great review! Thank you!
It's really essential not only to get feedback on the visual appearance of the site, but on all aspects as information design, wording, navigation, usp's etc as well.
Your review is greate basis for designing A/B Tests and generating new ideas!
In all, I like the idea, the focus is on the picture with options below the main photo. However, the different areas don't seem well connected. The navigation, display area, and comments seem to be different sites almost.
For the blue header, try decreasing the box look with possibly a fading gradient or add a corresponding background to the rest of the page. The lines behind the titles, such as "...art on the web" do announce the section, but almost seem to cut it off. Maybe try a thinner line under the title or remove it completely.
You have a great start, just a few adjustments will help to bring the sections together.
I think there's too many pictures in the second half of the page. I would move the testimonials up above the categories.

Love the concept.Get photos turned into works of art. Love the concept. Especially since digital camera photos seam to end up stored somewhere in a hard-disk instead of out in the open.

| 1 | I would like to see some actual photos of the finished product actually hanging in peoples homes, galleries etc..
Its hinted at in the background of this photo, but i was unable to locate any photos of interiors which did not look digitally adjusted. |
| 2 | Huh? what does 'supported by' mean in relation to the European Union. "Supported by the EU?" makes me think "Tax dollars pay for this sites hosting and staffing costs." Seams weird. |
I like the concept and the execution, would just like to see it in the wild a bit more.
Very nice and nice colour used throughout the pages, well done !!

CleanVery clean design.
Modern and FreshFocus remains on product you are selling because the greys compliment the saturated color in the site. Links pop too!
For me, this is an inspirational design. So glad I saw it up this morning. Love it. Very much professional.
Hi Samantha,
thank you very much for your positive review!
not bad!
what a fabulous review!
:-D ... i know. but i dont know english very well and I need that reviews for post my concept.
giving blank or 2 word reviews just so you can post a concept is NOT cool, you get what you give.
Hi Maite,
thank you for your really detailed and helpfull review!
@Three steps box on the start page: You are absolutely right! Our click map shows a really big percentage of users clicking on the first step and expecting an action. This really must be fixed!
@Small type in the navigation tabs: Right, that's crap. It should be just one-two words describing the action.
@English version: We're actually a german site and have no native speaker in our team. What do you think of the english version? Does it look like "real" english?
