| Minor Problem on mindful4.jpg | |
| 1 | is this the main logo or part of the nav? |
| 2 | I think the background image should be a photo that's relevant, the cartoon windmills aren't conveying the site's message IMO |

| 1 | could these 3 links be made into one drop menu to save on room? this nav looks a little cramped. |
| Minor Problem on Screen shot 2011-02-01 at 12.15.52 AM.png | |
| 1 | the mixed alignment of all these elements is a little confusing. you've got left, center, & right alignment all going on in this section |
| Minor Problem on Screen shot 2011-02-01 at 12.15.28 AM.png | |
| 1 | showing logo in footer is a little redundant, not necessary....social media icons would be cool though :-) |
| Positive Feature on mindful4.jpg | |
| 1 | this is much better, I like the buttons |
| Positive Feature on Screen shot 2011-02-01 at 12.16.02 AM.png | |
| 1 | i like this added treatment, they are just a tad large though (I'm being picky) |
hi Robin - First let me say that this is such an improvement from the first version. Still needs some tweaking though. please see my notes....
Overall, great job on this version. Happy coding!
Cheers again for the detailed feedback, and I'm glad you like this version. I can see the screencaps fine on FF.
Do you feel that the logo blends in with the nav too much? Eventually it will be changed and I'll have a logo designer make one to replace the "metallic" looking emblem with the M in it.
Ha, I'll brainstorm a little more for the main graphic instead of the mills. And yeah, I was having difficulty with making the sidebar look aligned properly. They're actually just left and center aligned, but the arrow for newsletter subscription gives the illusion of it being right aligned because of the color. I'll try making everything left and see how it looks.
Great suggestion about grouping mind/body/spirituality, I'll make mind and body subcategories.
great job Robin!

| 1 | What is this? |
| 2 | should be last position |
| Minor Problem on Screen shot 2011-02-01 at 12.15.28 AM.png | |
| 1 | not sure what this is... |
| Positive Feature on mindful4.jpg | |
| 1 | Nicely done |
| 2 | nice balance - photos to text. Where are the action buttons? Are there any? |
| 3 | should be first position |
Robin
I really like how this flows... I have a few nit annotations - but holistically, this works.
Nicely designed...
| Minor Problem | |
Capitalization of the headingsThe Capitalization of the entire heading of a post is very unnecessary. It consumes more space and is also stealing away the polished look that is currently missing. Just capitalize only the starting alphabet and the starting alphabet of key words in the heading. That would save more space and enhance the appeal.
| Positive Feature | |
Fresh DesignThis is a very fresh design I have seen in the recent past.
| New Idea | |
Link separatorIn the main body of the page, I suggest that you implement a 2pixel vertical separator to make the links stand out even more.
Increase line heightTry increasing the line height for the text by 0.2em. See how that affects the breathing space of the text.
I like the fresh design. Its different from what I get to see everyday. Although I don't understand what the site is about right away, it still can grab my interest. If you can work on the issues that I mentioned, I think it would improve the overall appeal. Try it out and let us know. Good luck!
| Minor Problem on mindful4.jpg | |
| 1 | think about moving thumbnails back to previous position...
(just a thought: It is known that pictuers are highly attractive so people are just forced by their brains to look at them, once looking at picture in THIS case you have to move all over the whole text to its beiginig (as long as next to image is the end of line, not the begining)... what (lets face it) is unecesary eye movement which may cause "conversion" rate fall... - in case of picture followe by a text visitors just start reading text without any additional eye moovement) |
| 2 | alignment issue |
| 3 | I would welcome more use of footer, the logo isnt necesary here |
| 4 | this sider need some alignemt treatment... centered or left align? Use only one |
| 5 | These minds have not any relation with mind... so this probably needs some change |
| 6 | more creative font wont hurt ;) |
| 7 | where is previously used continue reading? |
| New Idea on mindful4.jpg | |
| 1 | add some whitespace which can be used for social icons so these two stripes will be in same line, which might look good and it will look more clear |
| 2 | try playing with colors here |
| 3 | removing "TOPICS" (Or maybe moving in directly above/aside, decreasing its visual importance) will let you to keep categories directly above the content and search function above sider... (thats just another visual order + ) |
Hey there,
I can see some good movement snice your previous version. But, you know, there are still some more details...
Please see notes...
Good luck ;)
I love everything but the dates... its nice to scan the dates but why?
| Minor Problem on mindful4.jpg | |
| 1 | Needs more structure |
Love your color pallette. And the blunt branding & text is an excellent choice. The post dates is a unique feature as well. Heading and footer are perfect.
The one area I think needs more polish is the right hand footer. Perhaps you can segment this a little more by changing the sidebar background color to a light shade of gray.
| Minor Problem | |
SloganI don't like the slogan. It's really on the nose, but hard to understand. I had to re read it to understand what it means. Then I look over to the windmills hoping that would help make sense and say "What-what?" What does social and spiritial change have to do with windmills?
| Positive Feature | |
Date stamps for blogsSuper sexy. Suber suber sexy! Great job
| New Idea | |
Write and ArticleThe button is orange in the title, then in your side bar it's blue.
On a straight up design critique, I love it. The colors are great. The little windmills give it a Gowalla/Farmville happy feel.
On a (10-second do I know what this website is trying to accomplish) i think it falls apart. It's almost too cute and fun for the subject matter that you are addressing.
| Critical Problem | |
| In my opinion in the header enough 4 mills and i don't put there their shadows. | |
| Positive Feature | |
| Nice and light desing. | |
| Serious Problem | |
Needs somethingI like the idea, but the idea alone doesn't get me to want to use the site, nor am I drawn to it innately.
| Positive Feature | |
Good Nav & ButtonsI like the large clear fonts on the buttons and nav. Good for useability.
Well used colors, good but common layout is familiar. Easily usable.
Over all not a bad design, I just want a little more...
It looks like my screen captures didn't turn out, I'm having to use IE today and I don't think it's playing well with CF's jQuery features, so I hope my nots make sense.
