| Minor Problem on Review Tools | |
| 1 | Somewhere here or at bottom, there has to be filename displayed as it creates lot of confusion sometimes while refering the concept to the owner while reviewing. Though, its visible once it is published, but I guess, thats too late :-) |
| Serious Problem on Review Tools | |
| 1 | Have to click this icon to zoom the image, instead of clicking the image itself, as in previous version, which was good. I guess you may keep both the options, right?
|
| Critical Problem on Review Tools | |
| 1 | When zoomed, here an arrow appears which means we can go to next image. Guess what, it doesn't work. As compared to earlier one! Got to fix this ASAP!!

Hi Aurimas
Merry Christmas to you!!
Well, I have been following the UI changes closely from here, refreshing pages every time eve since I noticed the first change, the PDF Export icon:-)
Well, the UI is definitely good now, from usability perspective, though some issues, I have marked on the image!
In fact, I had used the Flash Feedback button and sent many such points, don't know if they ever reached you.
I have marked all the points, though one more to add:
Where has the button 'Add To Fav' gone? Can't See it anywhere, how to add or follow the concept now?
And, by the way, what is this all about "Premium Concepts are reserved for Elite members only" message appearing on the question mark?
It looks good now.
What I liked the best is the Severity categorization of the issues while reviewing. It is what really matters, for viewing the feedback. Critical, I will look at it first! Then the rest. It's Great!
Keep up the great work and once again Merry Christmas to you all my fellow CF pals!!
Instead of removing Premium concepts altogether, we decided to remove the option to pay for them, and just reserve the space for our best members - like you :)
:-)) Thanks Andrew!!

| 1 | Maybe improving the quality of uploaded images (when zoomed) would be nice, aswell the "see next" function doesnt work now.

Hey, sorry for my mongolian...
UI is in my opinion good and usable...
But I would like to talk a little bit about these reputation and community changes. I have some "experiences" in this so maybe some point will help you somehow...
There are few kinds of users... you have to find the solution how to satisfy each of them. For example for those active users i great to have few ways how to reward them. Featured member of the month, ranking system, maybe some annual rewards (would be nice point to portfolio/website to have award of for example most active user of concenptfeedback, the blaah blaah.. Most talented, best helper, newcomer, best work publisher, etc... there are many posibilities ). The actual ranking system, well I dont get it... there is like 50% of users elite or titan and the rest is like Newcomers and Student (I dont even think I have seen all of the ranks). So probably this is good point to start changes and improvments. I did jumped from 10 to 3 one day and I dont have idea how or why... Maybe there should be clear limitations of each rank... actual reputation points... these as activity points and some other "honor" based system instead of credits. Ok you want to get rank lvl 9... so you need 200 reputation/activity points and 50honor... Maybe you can try adding some user rank image aswell... Then... with greater rank everybody wants greater benefits... (this is allready interesting for those users who are looking only clearly for feedback stuff and these benefits can help them in this). So we are talking about premium concepts, posibility of inviting elites/experts to review and getting more detailed reviews. Next category of users are those who just feel good when do they help to somebody and want their respect, as long as they are acting serious and providing professional help..... you know, for free. These want a little bit from previos 2 categories. The last group of users in my opinios are those who just come atracted by some of site s benefits, want to use it and leave ASAP. You have to impress these to make them stay. In my case you did ;)
Then... next part is merging community together... for this purpose should help having forums... where do people could share new ideas/tutorials/studies/all those important links... some freebies etc... chat in Oftopic forums, Or just ask for help when it is not possible to do it via posting concept
I am sorry for my english and style its written :D I will be probably editing this post later, now I dont have enough time at all :)
Merry christmas to you
EDIT: -NEW BUGS FOUND:
I have also wondered how the ranking system really works.
Oh yeah, even I wondered all the time, Rebecca, how the system works and whats the relation between Rank and Reputation!
added some bugs... btw is this even reading somebody from staffs? :-O
We are, we are :) The holidays just had us away for a bit, so we're just now getting through all the feedback. :) Thank you, as always!
Good stuff Martin, thanks! We are in total agreement on the reputation system - it needs to be simplified and explained...that was a mistake we made back in the day, and have been trying to resolve it since. I like the StackOverflow model, where everything is very clear, and you can earn badges etc. Unfortunately, this is not a quick and simple change, so it may take some time. However, we'll probably be coming back to the community with ideas once they're ready.
Regarding community, you should join our Linkedin group - http://www.linkedin.com/groups?mostPopular=&gid=3550928. It's not the best solution, but it works. If you have other easy ideas, let me know.

| I really preferred the old zoom feature, having to look for the zoom link and click rather than just clicking the concept image is a little annoying. | |
| Minor Problem on Review Tools | |
| 1 | is this title for the new notes?
|
| New Idea | |
adding social featuresI also agree with Martin's comments regarding adding some additional community feedback features/forums to the site.

I hadn't been on the site for maybe 2 weeks and when I came back, BAMM!! all these changes! I'm still getting use to the changes, but there are some features that just don't make sense to me.
Also, the site seems slower to me and freezes every now & then when I try to save or make edits.
when I posted a new concept and wanted to edit my description after posting, it took me forever to figure out that you cannot do so by clicking on the edit icon button. What exactly is the "Flash Feedback" link all about?
Overall, the new layout is not as intuitive as it should be. To be honest, it's a little frustrating. And I hate saying that because I love CF! Happy Holidays!
Sorry to hear it Rebecca, we're working on it. Stick with us!
the CF community is awesome..... it'd take a whole lot more than a few minor site glitches for me to jump ship :-)
Thanks Andrew!
Well I am glad I got to know CF while it was brilliant. it was simple, functional and intuitive. Now..well neither.
I second every single point made here already. I suspect that your problems are:
First: The business model... trying to monetize this thing. With ads or without ads? How to get more paying customers, Control costs.
Second: increase the quality of the reviews (specially for paying customers). Unqualified people start tossing around dubious advice just to get credits so they can get reviewed. Who's Elite, who is good, who is a poser.
Third: Standardize and quantify "feedback" (waht is it that one needs to know anyway? what is two stars of originality? three of purpose? or one of strategy?) Give weight to the feedback (minor, critical, dots...)
SO HOW DO YOU ADDRESS THESE?
Easy.....Take them one at a time, individually, and deliberately slow and go to the community. Ask us, you dedicated fans. You had something brilliant that you are going to kill by over-thinking-it.
Just a thought.
Ha ha... nice points Alex, very true.
Easier said than done, but we're trying and always open to ideas. Let's start with #1 - you can post your ideas here or send them to me direct - andrew [at] conceptfeedback
"Easier said than done".....True, very true. So is the nature of feedback. A lesson I learned from my mother-in-law who constantly dispenses "feedback" without regard to the subtleties of implementation. ;-)
Before I put in my two cents, I will take the opportunity to point out how this highlights the need for some better vehicle for communication like a forum, or even a mailing list.
To point #1, The business model. There is a lot to what makes any enterprise viable and I will share a few ideas here later but for now let me concentrate on one small point and put in my own personal vote for ads.
I have absolutely no problem with them. Some of my best-loved resources such as Smashing Magazine, deviant art, etc rely upon them and I have come across many trends, novel products, etc. because of them. Besides, doesn't it smack a little of hypocrisy, that "us" of all groups would shun advertising? If we can't justify, accommodate and even celebrate advertising how can we be true to our clients?
Oh and one last point, Thanks for asking. Never implied that you guys are not open to input, quite the contrary.
This is getting to be too complex. Adding all these new notes things are adding major clutter to the layout and offer no new real value. The "notes" feature where you could add notes directly on the image was perfect.
I understand what you are trying to do by standardizing the reviews a bit. However, it is easy to get lost in the reviews with all the strange notes on the left edge. If you must, restore the old one column review layout and put the other stuff below the summary.
Reviewing has become a bit of a chore with all the things to go through. Simplify the interface back to where it was just the the star rankings, title, one thing to change, summary, and image notes. It gives the review an opportunity to express what is good and bad, and point things out directly via the notes.
Categorizing everything just forces the reviews to lose their fluidity. If I think something is a major issue, there's nothing stopping me from pointing it out in the text. People are looking for advice, so they should be reading through the review regardless. Separating it out doesn't really add any new information.
If you are interested in keeping the new features in some way, I think bringing back the click to zoom, and a separate Add Notes link as before would be the best choice. The notes feature is not really all that useful on the normal review page anyway because you can not see where the note is referring geographically on the image.
I didn't liked the two column layout of concept page.
I would like to see single column layout and notes are shown below or above summary.
Good catch, we will add the file name
