Minor Problem on layout.jpg 1 why didnt you filled this atleast with generated text allready? Fill it 2 why green? maybe try using some other color that might work better? and second question is why did you used color change for blog post, making it more important in visual hieratchy instead of changing color of umm... headlines? see notes & mockup for some ideas ;) (the footer color in my mockup is just baad, but you can give it a try changing it)

Overall, this is not a site for a designer, there are some fundamental flaws going on here. It has usability issues, and it's all a bit drab really.
It's hard designing and developing your own site, I too have a dark website, but I think the colors and the lighting that I have chosen works better than what you have going on here. Feel free to have a look, and if you think there's ways I can improve let me know...www.azcreative.co.nz
I hope you don't get offended, but I really think you need to think about the logo first, what does it mean to you and your potential customers, how will it tell your story... My site is called Az Creative - Az is my nickname, and I used say "azcreative, as you need!" I no longer need the rest of it, as azcreative just works...
From the logo, you need to look hard at what you want clients to see on your site, personally it should be about your work, not the muttering of a designer, you want a blog use posterous.
I think that this site is too dark, and a lighter design would work in your favor, have a look at these sites for inspiration:

I like your site and my previous site was similar - www.ksb-online.com .. this is what I used to have and I want to move away from it and really introduce my development side as well as my design.
its going to be a tricky task trying to accommodate both area's but I've taken on what you have said and I am currently trying out a new design, I will upload it once I have completed it..

Yea I think for the mean time I will be using the ksb template and then swapping it out with my new design ,, I need to show case development work now as I just got employed as a developer/designer so I really need to get my skills up on level and show them off for any other potential employers / clients .. like you said you said in your feedback...

Minor Problem on layout_edit.JPG 1 Careful of what gets placed in this main area. it needs to be powerful, and simple - so it does not steal attention (overwhelm other content areas on the screen) 2 Good contrast for a list module. Kam To cut to the chase - I'm not a fan of the first layout. The second one is balanced, scannable and readable. There are a few potential problem area:
- Featured work image needs to attract, but not overwhelm
- the dark background is dramatic, but establishes a "mood" versus a tone
- footer text is hard to read (blue on gray)

Hi Kam, First design doesn't work for me. I will talk about the second-one - I like black, I love black, but not this way. It just too much here. Logo needs to be brighter, don't think gray is good choice here. Menu needs some work, maybe bigger... Now, "from the blog" - I don't want to see what are you doing right now, I want to see what you CAN do. Would move it, or make it smaller, it takes away attention from services and work you do. Good luck :)

I think everything is too dark and there´s a lack of attraction! Personally I would put some icons or i would chnage the menu.
Look like you want to put too much information just in one screen, if you find a good navigation way, each screen will have the necessary information and will not get the visitors crazy! Goodluck and keep smiling!
Summary:
I like: - the name - the logo - the blue banner - the dark grey*
I do not like:
- the nav menus (hard to find)
- the footer areas (not tidy, seem like afterthought)
But more importantly:
You do 2 things, Design and Develop. That is it! Deliver is not a skill. Do you have "deliver" pieces on your portfolio? It's like saying: yellow, red, four! makes no sense...
*ABOUT THE DARK GREY
Because I like dark gray does not mean that this is good for this website.
Most of your work is black, grey or white. That is the ONE reason I would not use black for YOUR site. None of your work will stand out. Think about it, you like black because it makes other colors pop, but black on black is depressing.

Critical Problem De belles couleurs
Le design est épurée et la hiérarchisation des information est respectée. Cependant, le logo est trop lourd. Il devrait être réuni en un seul bloc pour plus de compréhension. De plus le bloc du blog sur la droite prend trop de place comparé aux nouveaux travaux. Personnellement je l'aurais placé en dessous. Le design reste sobre tout de même.Summary:
To me it's a bit to dark, have you thought about changing the background below the blue to a light gray? maybe the grey from your logo?
Your logo doesn't stand out enough, what about using the blue and orange with the grey and tie them all togeather?
I think overall the 2nd layout is better. Keep up the good work.

Hey, I think you got something good to start with. I would however point out a few issues:
- The main navigation is too small. You should use the extra space you have and make the menu more compelling.
- Increase the line height of the about text and increase the width to the right
- If you make the featured work box a slide show then you don't need to repeat it at the recent wok section. You can use that section to highlight say the services you offer
- As for the footer, I suggest on of those fat footers. Better usability.

I found most of your points valid and thought I'd edit the last version to what you have posted, but, I left out the footer coloring. I think just changing the text color was more than enough, I want the main focus to be on my main content and the color on the footer seemed to attract my eye to it more than I wanted it too .. I'm looking to also add the follow me links else where on the site, but I havn't started using those links alot just yet so may wait until I am a full time facebook/twitter/blog 'er ..
